Asking blacks to assimilate is asking them to go back to being slaves, right?

Since 1619 most of their time here has been as slaves, about 250 years
Jim Crow is second place, about 100 years.
On-paper equality is third, about 50 years.

I am glad that this history is acknowledged here on the DR. I just don't really know what comment to make about it. So much of 'black' history in America is really just the history of America. Violence, injustice and slavery slowly giving way to change and greater equality/opportunity.

So much of 'black' history in America is really just the history of America.

A lot of black history has been ignored in favors of white history.

Find yourself a black friend and have them tell you all the things black Americans have done and been through that have never seen it's way into history books.
