One of Amazon's top cloud engineers has left his $1 million dollar-per-year job in protest over the company's handling of worker concerns amid the coronavirus pandemic. In a blog post, he cited Amazon's "chickenshit" response to employee protests of the company's less-than-ideal conditions for the tens of thousands of workers on warehouse floors.

I agree with him. Of course he is leaving a 7 figure job... I am starting to see similar remarks and behavior from some of the management team in my company over COVID-19. Amazon has big problems with culture - in particular management culture and this goes all the way to the top with Bezos.

I have a lifelong friend who operates multiple businesses - I quit working with him after helping him build his first because of his treatment of workers. We are not nearly so close today and that was 20 years ago. I just had an extended debate with him over COVID - his businesses are shut down because of it. He doesn't understand it - arguing everyone dying is over 70 and such. I ended it by asking him if he is ready to write off his parents as no big deal if they die because they are now 70.

Corporate America views workers as resources to be exploited until they're costing the shareholders money, then they are eliminated.

Amazon has for years been abusing it's employees. It's the 'Murican way.

The days that human beings began to be viewed as a commodity was a sad day.
