Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Wednesday, May 13, 2020

Filmmaker Eugene Jarecki created the Trump Death Clock:In January 2020, the Trump administration was advised that immediate action was required to stop the spread of COVID-19. According to NIAID Director Dr. Anthony Fauci, "there was a lot of pushback" to this advice. President Trump declined to act until March 16th. Epidemiologists now estimate that, had mitigation measures been implemented one week earlier, 60% of American COVID-19 deaths would have been avoided.

"Not that you ought to take influenza lightly. Flu season in the US, which runs from October through May, claims tens of thousands of lives every year. This season CDC estimates that, as of mid-March, between 29,000 and 59,000 have died due to influenza illnesses. Add to that the misery of hundreds of thousands of flu-related hospitalizations and millions of medical visits for flu symptoms this season."

Are we to infer from your post that you're directly comparing COVID to the flu with the intent of downplaying the crisis?

"and, all the while Cuomo sent back known Positive Covid 19 patients to their Nursing Homes killing over 5500!!"

Not every nursing home patient who died did so because another Covid patient was sent back from the hospital to their nursing home. That said, I'd like to know how many Covid patients were returned to nursing homes, and how many other nursing home residents were infected as a result.

Lying Trash.

The TOTAL number of nursing home deaths is 5,500 in New York.

Right now they have no link to extra deaths caused by putting COVID-19 positive patients in nursing homes. All positive patients were required to be quarantined at the nursing homes limiting potential infection risk for others.

The majority of US cases came from Europe, which Trump ignored until it was too late.

He refused to recommend lock downs or to engage in mass testing or contact tracing. We could have limited this like some other countries have.

He refused.

From your article:
"So while the flu has long been considered a dangerous seasonal scourge, new data on the COVID-19 epidemic underscore a frightening fact: COVID-19 is even deadlier."

"Anthony Fauci, MD, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease, put it plainly: "The seasonal flu that we deal with every year has a mortality of 0.1%," he told the congressional panel, whereas coronavirus is "10 times more lethal than the seasonal flu," per STAT news."

"Unlike the seasonal flu, there's no vaccine to prevent COVID-19, at least not yet. And that makes it all the more important for all of us to take precautions to guard against the risk of acquiring and transmitting the new virus."

Not a good comparison if you want to say the Flu is like Coronavirus.

By the way, your article is from March 26 before we really knew how easily Coronavirus could spread.

No matter how you shake and dance the last drop always ends up in your pants.

Trump is responsible for the spread of the virus inside America being he was President when the Virus attacked America. So sorry Trumpy drew the short straw. It was a bad time to collide with the Russians to steal the elections. Very bad timing. But then again Trumpy always was a loser.

But Trump the President (whether we like it or not) and is is responsible for the welfare safety of all Americans whether he likes them or not and whether you or he admit it or not.

Remember this? I hope so. Another very famous deplorable said it.

You go to war with the army you have. Not the army you want.

Every country that is not China can now be blamed on their leaders for allowing covid into their country.

Every country should be able to hold their leaders accountable for corruption and gross negligence or mismanagement. And remove them if necessary. Especially if that leads to more deaths of their citizens than necessary and it can be shown that was due to negligence and it was avoidable.

Too bad that thanks to Trumpy's culture war America is not one if those countries.

50,000 deaths has for years been the normal weekly toll...why no hysteria and blame? (Cue DR insults)
