Americans seem to agree that someone deserves the blame for the country's coronavirus death toll, they just can't settle on whom. A poll from Morning Consult released last week found the targets differed significantly along party lines.

Interesting.

The Democrats seem to blame those who did not properly mitigate the transmission of the virus once it hit the United States.

The Republicans seem to blame those who they think brought the virus to the United States.

Looking at the results directly... ( morningconsult.com ) there are a few areas where Democrats and Republicans differ.

Surprisingly, more Democrats blame state and local governments.

Unsurprisingly more Republicans blame the scientific community and the medical profession.

Speaking of polling...

Most Americans Say Federal Government Has Primary Responsibility for COVID-19 Testing
www.people-press.org

...As a growing number of states ease stay-at-home restrictions imposed in response to the outbreak of the novel coronavirus, a majority of Americans (61%) say it is primarily the federal government's responsibility to make sure there are enough COVID-19 tests in order to safely lift the restrictions.

Fewer (37%) say it is mainly the responsibility of state governments to ensure there is an adequate supply of tests....

Currently, 68% of Republicans and Republican-leaning independents say public health officials such as those at the CDC have done an excellent or good job in dealing with the outbreak, down from 84% nearly two months ago. Positive ratings for public health officials among Democrats and Democratic leaners are virtually unchanged at 75%....

China did what?

Who cares who's to blame? This crap is here NOW.
Deal with that. The blame stuff can be litigated later,or not. Frankly it's irrelevant to the problems we face. If they actually did something effective the blame games would stop.
