A federal appeals court in Virginia ruled on Thursday that a lawsuit accusing President Trump of violating the Constitution by profiting from his Washington hotel can proceed. The decision will most likely lead the Justice Department to ask the Supreme Court to intervene to prevent the plaintiffs from gathering evidence against the president.

Just a thought, but, the length of time it takes to get a final decision on something like this through the courts is ridiculous and denies justice. This lawsuit is over 2 years old and will not be resolved for a long long time, most likely until after President Zero leaves office. So what is the point of even trying?

Justice delayed is Justice denied.

Our legal system has from its inception favored those with pockets deep enough to drag out a decision. I this instance the pockets of the people are measured in potential days remaining in a Trump Presidency.

Fat Nixon will appeal to run out the clock.

He is by far the single most corrupt PO(tu)S in history.

I believe that is the actual Plan.

It has been all along. Delay, deny, block, obfuscate.

And lie.

And then stuff your pockets from the Treasury as long as you can get away with it.

I agree. But there's still a lot of fodder in this article to discuss. This amusing aspect in particular:

The firm [Trump] holds a 60-year lease on the building with the federal General Services Administration, with payments of nearly $268,000 per month. Because of the pandemic, the hotel now sits mostly empty, and firm officials have been trying to renegotiate the lease.

Eric Trump, the president's son, has said the firm wants only whatever relief the agency is granting other federal tenants, but the effort has underscored the conflicts of interest arising from the president's interest in the business. The Trump Organization began trying to sell its lease last fall, but the pandemic has put its search for bidders on hold.

A 60-year lease is the height of stupid optimism. I wonder ~~ at the time ~~ was Trump & Sons, Inc. planning ahead for their Imperial Presidency (dictatorship)?

I have no sympathy for the Trump Crime family and their financial problems. Karma is a tough bitty.

And I am quite sure they have no sympathy for mine.
