Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Friday, May 15, 2020

The Bureau of Land Management is investigating whether Nevada rancher Ryan Bundy illegally built new irrigation infrastructure across Gold Butte National Monument, the same area where his family unlawfully grazes cattle on public lands. A BLM official declined to comment on the allegations to E&E News but wrote emails to two individuals familiar with the situation that it is "under investigation" as of last week.

The Bundy family should be in prison for aiming weapons at federal officials. Why do we tolerate them and these lunatics bringing weapons to state capitals? It is time to arrest them and convict them for their threats before, not after, their threats become murders of state officials.

BLM needs to just take action. Don't say it's coming. Don't give any indicators.

Just show up with trucks and manpower to herd the cows into trailers and ship them to market to pay their fines and fees. [...]

Here's the simple answer. Give the land to the state of Nevada and let the state deal with it. It's a local problem. And the Bundy's claim all the time has been that the land should belong to the state.

"And the Bundy's claim all the time has been that the land should belong to the state."

If it did, he'd simply refuse to pay the State, on grounds the land should belong to the Feds. And you'd nod in agreement just the same.

But I'm sure you can figure that out, and you are just pretending there are good people on both sides on this one, since that's what you do here.

They could deny them leases and remove the cattle if they don't comply. No need for loss if life. If the Bundy's start something when the leases are denied that's on them. Loss of life should be avoided if possible. Still, rule of law should be maintained. Giving the be land to the state is not a good answer. Maybe they should encourage the Bundy's to BUY the land. Cheapskates like that will RUN AWAY at that prospect.

The feds should give the land back to the First Nations they stole it from.

Who cars what the Bundys claim. They're just greedy idiots who concoct justifications for their free loading.

And no, the land shouldn't just be given to the state just to pacify these idiots.

Take their cows and tell them to piss off. They had a nice arrangement and crapped on it because they're stupid and greedy.

"Instead, he chose to pursue an argument based on the notion that the land should belong to the state, not the Federal Government."

And if it were the other way, the above would read

Instead, he chose to pursue an argument based on the notion that the land should belong to the Federal Government, not the state.

The fact that you are able to articulate his "argument" doesn't make it, or you, any less fatuous.

Don't you get tired of being such a dummy all the time? You don't seem stupid, but the things you say are relentlessly stupid.
