Excellent!!!

Pence has his head as far up Trump's --- as it will go but I think that Pence wants a political future. There will be no political future for Pence if Trump resigns after losing and Pence pardons him. Plus, I don't think it within Trump's nature to willingly relinquish power. Therefore, Trump is going to resort to increasingly drastic measures to win re-election.

For those Trump loyalists in his admin, beware. Trump's pushing of the senate to investigate prior actors in the previous administration will surely have adverse consequences for you when Trump loses.

A point for Biden.

"There will be no political future for Pence if Trump resigns after losing and Pence pardons him."

Pence has no political future no matter who wins in Nov., he's just a placeholder, he only ran vor VP because he knew he could get reelected as Gov. of Indiana.

A shot across the bows for what Trump has been threatening him with.

Trump needs to contemplate the maxim of Machiavelli: If you strike the Biden you must kill him.

Donald Trump is an amoral man capable of anything. He's also the world's worst coward, a feature of amorality. If he's not given to understand that the dominoes will fall exactly where he wants them when pushed, he may back off.

As it stands now, however, Trump seems to be doing almost everything he can in preparation for a coup.

AG Barr won't wait until the last minute to draft a legal justification for said coup. I hope some patriot in the Justice Department leaks it to us.

If there is a Trump coup, and even if it fizzles after twenty-four hours, for that short time a few absent posters will dare show their heads again.

I like the take-off on "what doesn't kill you makes you stronger"..... what doesn't kill me had better f'n run!

That's fine. Trump won't pardon him

There can be a coup only with the military's assistance. There are enough generals and colonels in the US Armed Forces who have seen the general disrespect Der Dotard has given to the military leaders who joined the administration. weapons and weapons systems in hand, they will not play the fool to Trump...

All, the first Trumpite support for a Trump coup, months ahead of schedule.

Don't worry snippy.

Successful autocrats rarely lose elections

They pack electoral authorities, jail opponents, and silence unfriendly media outlets and undermine our electoral processes in any way possible. Like not funding security for our elections and allowing foreign interference.

If that fails then they will declare the elections were rigged and fraudulent.

Memorize these talking points snippy. You will be repeating them soon enough.

1) "Democrats are the ones undermining our democracy!"

2) "Democrats are afraid of a thorough investigation into the fairness of this election."

3) "Democrats will stop at nothing to get this president out of office."

Trump won't pardon him (Biden)

#8 | Posted by Sniper at 2020

For what?

Trump won't say anything to the rest of us. Has he told you?

"In your dreams"

Inn the 30's a bunch of rich guys tried to have a coup against FDR, they went to Gen. Smedley Butler to command the military to back them, instead he reported them. Hopefully our military is still as patriotic as it was back then. I have a feeling that our military is even more anxious to rid us of Trump than the rest of us. I know my own father was an officer in the Navy for 30 years, he wouldn't have tolerated any coup attempt no matter who the president was and he didn't like some of them but he would still serve under them and obey orders. No patriotic American member of the military would do any differently.

An open question to any Trump supporter currently posting:

If Donald tries to remain in office beyond his legal term, are you in or out?

I would beg Trump's pardon in the same way he begged the pardon of these people:

You don't have a very positive opinion of the US military. What you're saying is that like in a real banana republic the military would be more committed to a diaper-wearing orange clown with untreated syphilitic dementia than they are to the country and their oath of office? You're a POS, seriously!

The military has changed considerably in the past few years, Dems now regularly poll close to or ahead of the Gross Old Pedophiles especially among the officer class who are generally better educated. Dotard's pardoning of a war criminal or removing Captain Crozier from his command has caused considerable angst, especially among the brass. His blatant disrespect for Generals Mattis and McMaster has also changed more than a few minds. If there was to be a coup, Dotard would have to go to general officers, I doubt he'd be able to rally many to his cause.

Pardon for what? To be pardoned you have to be convicted. Any conviction would be appealed, eventually to the Supreme Court. By the time all that is completed Biden would be wrapping up his second term, and Trump would have likely expired. The SCOTUS would overturn anyway.

SO American that Presidents can own their very own SCOTUSes now... or is it SCOTI?

#22 | Posted by Corky at 2020-05-15 08:19 PM | Reply

As a cost saving measure, I think President Biden should shrink the courts by about 30%, last hired, first fired, including SCOTUS.

When Gerald Ford pardoned Richard Nixon back in 1974, he had NOT been convicted of any crime.
