Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Friday, May 15, 2020

Several Democrats are bucking their party and voting against Speaker Nancy Pelosi's $3 trillion coronavirus relief bill in the House on Friday. Some moderate members in swing districts " including Reps. Abigail Spanberger of Virginia, Joe Cunningham of South Carolina, Kendra Horn of Oklahoma and Cindy Axne of Iowa " ripped the massive measure as a one-sided partisan bill that is going nowhere. And there's resistance in the most liberal wing of the party, too, who say the $3 trillion measure isn't big enough. Rep. Pramila Jayapal, a leader of the Congressional Progressive Caucus, said her "no" vote was "difficult" but the bill fell short on ensuring Americans continued to get paychecks and had access to health care.

Have no fear Pelosi will be on the news tonight blaming Trump for Dem defections. The liberal media will gladly play along.

Dramatic stuff Gracie.

It's because they believe the bill doesn't go far enough to help Americans who need it the most, Gracie. A big difference from Republicans who salivate over giving their millionaire friends another handout.

The middle road always takes hits from the extremes right and left of it... which often means it's just about right. Or just about what might actually get passed.

Republican Peter King of NY is voting for it.... he's on his way out the door and can't be tortured by other GOPhers.

Not surprising.

Spkr Pelosi had the bill drafted with little-to-no input from Republicans in the House or from the Senate. To me, that makes it look more like a political bill than one she had hoped to have enacted.

imo, she wants the bill to get to the Senate where some Senators in tough races this fall will have to say "yea" or "nay," and have that on their voting record going into November.

After the way Republicans have acted during the last 30 years who can blame her? They have demonstrated over and over that they don't care about the American people, for crying out loud they are trying to have the entire ACA thrown out right now in the middle of a Pandemic. They are not human beings any more. Ghouls is a better description for them these days. Pelosi ignoring the ghouls doesn't bother me in the slightest.

Pelosi is just trying to rip a page out of the Obama playbook - never let a good crisis go to waste.

#7 you would think a life long politician would grow out of passing bills that have zero chance of passing just to create a headline.

#9 That's the whole point Sitz, this isn't about actually helping anyone, it is about scoring points and having the Senate refuse to vote on it so that they can scream about it and their lackeys in the MSMDNC can amplify those screams.
