How New York Suffered Nearly 10 Times the Number of Deaths as California. California's governor and San Francisco's mayor worked together to act early in confronting the COVID threat. For Andrew Cuomo and Bill de Blasio, it was a different story, and 27,000 New Yorkers have died so far.

Like Jim Morrisin said " The west is the best"

Oregon has been lucky and vigilant and kept the deaths under 150 so far. As someone who is high risk I hope the "patriots" screaming to go to the malls again don't screw it all up.

Washington did well, since it acted quickly and decisively once the deaths started. The lack of a subway likely helped.

I wouldn't be surprised if there were many more people bringing the virus from Europe to NYC than people bringing the virus from China to the West Coast.

And population density.

Certain parts of New York have 100,000 people per square mile.

But Cuomo probably couldn't have done enough to really stop it without adequate information released by the Feds.

Worse, even if Cuomo had done more, it likely wouldn't make a difference because NYC is a perfect breeding ground for infections and he can't control people from Europe or out-state traveling in.

@#2 ... The lack of a subway likely helped. ...

I think another big problem in NYC is the abundance of elevators, in residential buildings and in the office towers.

"But still Trump's Fault, amirite?"

If you insist!
Let's give Trump credit, then, for banning flights from China because of coronavirus.

Yes actually.

Countries that took the virus seriously from the start have done well.

Countries like the US who didn't haven't done well.

Sorry, but the abysmal national response will always be Trump's fault. He being the "leader" and all.

Sorry that that's a handful of salt rubbed on your butthurt but it's the truth.

Calling the shutdown of SF is easier than calling the shutdown of NYC. And, folks are crammed in NYC; walls to the wall, man.
