Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Sunday, May 17, 2020

A woman shopping at a supermarket in Orange County, California, filmed herself pestering staff members who wouldn't let her in without a mask. The Gelson's supermarket at Dana Point had a sign outside indicating a mandatory policy to wear a mask. In the video she shared on social media, Shelley Lewis insists on seeing a manager who offers her a mask or to have an employee shop for her. She refuses both and makes the claim that she has a medical condition that doesn't allow her to wear a mask. Lewis has been actively posting on Facebook

Her medical condition preventing her from wearing a mask? Terminal stupidity.

If she has a condition she needs to either let somebody else shop for her or bring a signed doctor's note.

Soon enough these idiots are going to run into store employees that are not amused by their behavior and something bad will happen.

I don't get the insistence on shopping in these stores. If that's the store policy then follow it or go somewhere else. Isn't that how capitalism works?

According to one of the Twitter comments, she's a flatearther as well.

Trump/GOP sure attract some intellectual giants.

Did you see the video of the guy in Miami demanding to be able to shop at Publix without a mask? There was a thread on that. Just in case you missed it you can enjoy it here. Warning - there are a LOT of beeps! www.miamiherald.com

What an entitled (R)tarded Karen.
Her medical condition is that she's a flipping moron.

These workers are busting their asses so this Feral Trumper can pretend she is some sort of victim. Of course she's a flat earther. She doesn't disprove the stereotype any.

She thought she was so clever with her medical condition lie and HIPPA excuse.

Duck off vunt

Not going to lie, I will likely get a good chuckle out of the go fund me page set up by this idiot's family to cover her funeral expenses.

Farking idiots.

There are so many layers of ridiculousness here it's mind boggling.

Normally, yes.

But when a righty's victim complex gets triggered what little principles and values they actually had go right out the window.

Was she tapping her toe while making this demand? That's normally part of the act...

One would think if you had a health problem that prevents you from wearing a mask you would be especially careful of catching a respiratory virus

I'd imagine a ventilator would end up being much more inconvenient

Can anyone enlighten me on what sort of medical condition would prevent a person from wearing a mask?

Not to suggest i believe this woman; she was clearly just making ---- up to create a mask-related grievance. Just want to confirm that there's no such thing as what she was talking about in the first place.

Asthma and other lung diseases?

#16 | Posted by censored at 2020-05-18 11:00 AM | Reply

#16 Brief internet research shows that people with asthma or COPD should be wearing a mask more than anyone, and that despite the discomfort they should wear it, practice wearing it at home, and deal with it.

#4 - Standard pracice in Texas with no insurance.

What the ---- is wrong with people? Was it about money?

Stop enabling the virus.

IF there is no vaccine THEN you are not back.

Not unless you Compensate for no vaccine by massive widespread testing and tracing. Even then you should still wear a mask. Until it's over. Maybe even after. It helps with all viruses.

SINCE there is no massive widespread testing and tracing THEN the virus will continue to burn thru Americans like wildfire if you let it loose like it was in New York. There is no going back.

It's a pandemic people. Google it for Christ's sake. For the sake of your country.

If you have low lung volume you cant wear a respirator. A mask should be fine though.

If people have a right to not wear a mask, do I have the right to go bottomless into a store because freedom? have everything waving in the breeze?

The fact that COVID Karen was taking video of her conversations with the employee and manager was the first clue that she was lying about her medical condition. The manager was very respectful and offered her the option of having an employee do her shopping but then she balks at giving him her credit card. Apparently she never eats in restaurants or goes to a drive through. She's MAGA moron, and the store demanding that she wear the mask is NOT violating her rights, the store is protecting the other customers and their employees.

Orange County, CA used to be a GOP stronghold. It's no surprise they won't go down without a fight.

And get this: Some people actually think this shopper-instigator is fighting the good fight. They think she's a Rosa Parks.

"They think she's a Rosa Parks."

Well, she'll be buried in one of the local Memorial Parks...so...there's that.

At the beach, restaurants had signs "no shirt no shoes no service"

A mask so no big deal.

Unless, the store with the mask rule sells masks. Sell me one so I can get in.

Seems simple.

For a long time, there was a general idea in the legal community that women had the right to go topless as long as it wasn't for commercial purposes (i.e. making money). Many city ordinances and state laws did not cover women going topless.

It wasn't until recently the Supreme Court put the smack down on that legal consensus. Still, many city ordinances and state laws don't directly address whats up above, only whats down below.

Perhaps these freedom fighters will one day succeed in having COVID defined as a person, and subject to all the rights and privileges appurtenant thereto, in much the same way corporations are today.

The GOP thinks that lose of life should not stop the economy. She was wasting staff time, so by GOP logic they should just shot her in the face.
