"In the aftermath of these hearings, I believe that Christine's testimony brought about more good than the harm misogynist Republicans caused by allowing Kavanaugh on the court. We were going to have a conservative [justice] ... Elections have consequences, but he will always have an asterisk next to his name. When he takes a scalpel to Roe v. Wade, we will know who he is, we know his character, and we know what motivates him, and that is important; it is important that we know, and that is part of what motivated Christine."

"Conservatives are railing against comments attorney Debra Katz made in April in her keynote address at the University of Baltimore's Feminist Legal Theory Conference regarding Kavanaugh's controversial Supreme Court confirmation process. "

Debra Katz. Name sound familiar ?

"HHS violated the Whistleblower Protection Act by removing Dr. Rick Bright from his position because he made protected disclosures in the best interest of the American public," his lawyers Debra Katz and Lisa Banks said in a statement."

So now we know what lawyer the DNC has on retainer when they go after someone, or protect their own.

..and the media lapped the schiff that skunt was doling out up because Kavanaugh was conservative. Meanwhile, over at Stink Finger Joe's campaign headquarters..... nada.

Appalling. Charges should be brought up against Ford.

Total headline failure. Pure garbage. Charges should be brought against whoever wrote that headline.

Danni, all you ever do is knee-jerk, but seldom actually offer a rebuttal. Please tell us why the headline is a failure. It pretty much says what the Newsweek headline says, but slightly edited presumably because of number of character limit.

So what is it that bothers you about the headline?

Although this is slightly old news it's not at all surprising. The fact that she went out and scrubbed her social media accounts before coming forward was a big clue that this had nothing to do with reality and everything to do with trying to destroy a political opponent.

The problem is given how the left reacted to Ford it's put them into a possible situation with Tara Reade.

#6 | POSTED BY SHERP

Can you prove it's not?

The entire article is based off a statement from Ford's lawyer.

She never says Ford lied or made up the accusation.

Just that Ford's motivation to come forward was so that everyone will always know Kavanagh is a rapist.

But hey. Critical thought is lost on you Trumpublicans. Which is why you all accepted this person's opinion as fact.

I guess when you're desperate for something to cling onto, anything will do. Even an opinion article in Newsweek magazine.

The fact that she went out and scrubbed her social media accounts

Most likely because she didn't want millions of irate Trumpublicans posting hate and death threats on them.

But hey. She scrubbed some social media accounts. Clearly she wasn't raped by Kavanagh. Those social media accounts would have totally cleared Kavanagh of raping Ford back in the 1980s.

I'm surprised you're not a lawyer. Or a detective.

comments made by Debra Katz is not opinion. This taints anything she says in defense of her new client, Rick Bright.

"Conservatives are railing against comments attorney Debra Katz made in April in her keynote address at the University of Baltimore's Feminist Legal Theory Conference regarding Kavanaugh's controversial Supreme Court confirmation process."

#15 | Posted by rhet at 2020-05-18 09:49 AM | Reply

Also. Not surprisingly cultish of you.

Ford accuses Kavanagh of rape.

Jeff: "She's clearly lying! I know it!"

Reade accuses Biden of sexual assault.

Jeff: "She's clearly telling the truth! I know it!"

#16 | Posted by ClownShack at 2020-05-18 09:50 AM | Reply

comments made by Debra Katz is not opinion.

The author's interpretation clearly is.

Because at no point in time does Debra Katz suggest Ford made up the accusation. Or that she lied about anything.

Just that her decision to come forward was political.

So everyone would know Kavanagh is a rapist.

#17 | Posted by ClownShack at 2020-05-18 09:53 AM | Reply

I think they are both full of ----, Clown.

How about you? Lemme guess, you are 100% positive Ford was telling the truth and 100% positive that Reade is lying. Amirite?

#18 | Posted by JeffJ at 2020-05-18 09:53 AM | Reply | Newsworthy 1

Amirite?

No. You is wrong.

Could have been during your pouting hiatus from the DR.

I suggested Biden should deal with Reade's accusations and let the truth be exposed.

I got a lot of pissy responses about my comment because "clearly Reade was lying."

Which. Who knows. She could be.

I think they are both full of ----

You may have changed your opinion of Tara Reade. But last I remember. You fully believed her.

#19 | POSTED BY CLOWNSHACK

No. At best I've said her claim is likely exaggerated.

I don't place much credence into decades old allegations that surface at the most convenient time possible to try and take down a political foe.

#17 | Posted by ClownShack at 2020-05-18 09:53 A

That's a conclusion that's "your opinion" because the charge of rape was certainly not even remotely proven.

#21 | POSTED BY RHET

It's hard to prove rape.

Kavanagh's demeanor during his hearings was what proved to me he's unsuitable for the job as a Supreme Court Justice.

And it gave me enough of a doubt in his character to believe Ford.

#22 | Posted by ClownShack at 2020-05-18 10:20 AM | Reply

Let's go right to the former VP himself and see how he sees this.

"It takes enormous courage for a woman to come forward, under the bright lights of millions of people watching, and relive something that happened to her," he said. She "should be given the benefit of the doubt."

The Atlantic,

May 1, 2020

Guess that's changed.

The facts spoke for themselves. The guy isn't suited to be a Supreme Court justice.

But hey. Keep defending Kavanagh, the rapist.

#22 | POSTED BY CLOWNSHACK

The irony is his demeanor is precisely what Deplorables like about him.
His willingness to bend or outright deny facts, in service to his ideology.
Denying what FFFF, Renate Alumnus, Ralph Club, and so on mean.

Someone who does that will deny global warming is real, too. Deny the Emoluments Clause. Deny that the Fourth Amendment means you have the right to an attorney if you can't afford one. Deny that the Eighth Amendment extends health care to prisoners. Deny that money is money and speech is speech. Deny that the President is not above the law.
