I have heard that my old home town is getting the plant. Red pill equates reality. Blue pill continue with your illusion. Why should he continue doing business in a place that hates businessmen, employers, and tax payers. I imagine he will have it done in a year. Regulation, inspection, fees and taxes will more than be cut in half. One big reason, that city already had plant buildings large enough to house his assembly factory.

"Red pill equates reality. Blue pill continue with your illusion."

Which pill were you on, when you told us $30K in Amarillo is a pretty good living?

The Orange Pill.

@#1 ... Why should he continue doing business in a place that hates businessmen, employers, and tax payers. ...

Mr Musk was ambiguous as to the reason for his red pill comment, so for now we do not know what he was alluding to.

However, given my understanding of the circumstances, I'd say he seems to be more concerned about making money than he is about the health of those he employs.

So, as I read your comment, you seem to think it is OK for Mr Musk to exploit workers, possibly causing them extreme sickness and maybe even death, so long as he can continue to make his profits?

Did I read your comment incorrectly? If not, please explain.

thx.

Elon is just fishing for some Trump socialism/crony capitalism. Why add value in the marketplace when sucking a little cheeto gets you millions.

#3 | Posted by LampLighter, Do you realist that the opposite of exploit is unemployed? Unemployed means poverty. Any manufacturing involves risk. Being employed provides the power for you to make your own choices. Being dependent makes you a prisoner.

Doesn't being employed just make you dependent on your employer?

No I do not realize that.

But I am willing to listen to your reasons for that comment.

You need to try harder.

Shocker! Another filthy rich white man giving in
to Rightwing----------- ------------ Hoopla...

Diminishes him in my eyes. Thought he was one
of the 'smart ones'. Turns out, he was just
another of the rich fortunate one's with good
timing. Genius on certain levels, tragically
flawed on others. And, "Oh yeah. Sending a hundred
people to Mars in an aluminum death cylinder (microwave)
to have their brains and bodies cooked in radiation,
to mainly stroke one's ego, is neither a sound plan
for space travel, nor a realistic one"...

Sorry, staying w the Liberal Blue Pill (for life)...
less detrimental side effects, to self and to planet.

He's definitely smart. He's also why Intelligence and Wisdom are 2 different stats in D&D.

With collapsing oil prices Teslas are going to become Edsels. I don't care where he takes his company, how cheap he can find labor, the oil producers are now fighting back very hard against alternative energy cars and production of energy.

Also, I still remember back in the day when the red pill was a powerful downer. We all just called them "reds."

That's the perspective of a perpetual victim.

Nope. Alternative Energy Cars are petroleum products. Green energy production is a petroleum product.

The same energy and chemical conglomerates that own oil & gas production own green energy production too. You think they would just die out? They have money, they just buy the market share back. It is the same thing Big Beer did to Craft Beer. It happens in many industries.

" It is the same thing Big Beer did to Craft Beer. It happens in many industries."

Probably more craft beers available today than any time in my life. I have two craft beer bars within walking distance of my house. A few years ago I didn't even know what craft beer was. And obviously, Elon Musk owns Tesla, not the energy and chemical conglomerates so I fail to see any point in your post.

Craft Brewery Ownership Chart. You see beer, so I must be wrong. That means you've been beaten by corporate marketing. Big Beer owns the distribution channels Craft beer uses and simply bought the big craft brands like Goose Island, Karbach, etc. AB Inbev bought the entire Craft Brew Alliance. Big Beer owns most of Craft Beer. The fact that many craft brands exists is only because of deregulation and they compete among themselves for an increasingly shrinking part of the pie as craft beer gets less cool and alcoholic seltzers are dominating market sales now.

Tesla makes petroleum products. It always has and always will. "Taking on Oil & Gas!" is just more corporate marketing to make you feel good about it.

This level of stupidity is rare.

The California economy continues to boom faster than the US as a whole and the population continues to grow each year.

But hey, if you are dumb enough to believe what you said about California, better tell Elon! He is building a factory near Berlin as well and their laws/policies make California look like a Republican Utopia.

As for Austin, don't expect fees and taxes to be cut much if at all. It's one of the most liberal states in the country and Tesla isn't a huge factory. As for Regulation and Inspection, they don't "cut" those.

And as for "plant buildings large enough to house his assembly factory"... He isn't using an existing building. In fact, it sounds like they already bought open land.

This is about one thing: Elon is pissed California shut him down due to COVID-19. He was fine with California until then. In fact, its unlikely he will even really fully leave California.

You have obviously downed a bottle of Trump blue pills.

Big Beer owns most of Craft Beer.

Yup.

Chances are if it's not a small local place that's relatively new it's owned by a large corporate brewing operation.
