As President Donald Trump makes his third coronavirus-themed trip to a battleground state in as many weeks, some experts are expressing concern that the visits could put communities at risk during the COVID-19 outbreak. Even though additional precautions have been undertaken by the White House, public health experts and aides in previous administrations warn that it is nearly impossible to eliminate all risk of exposure during such trips.

Trump has legal' and moral responsibility' to wear mask on Ford plant tour, Michigan attorney general says

In an open letter addressed to Trump, Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel (D) asked the president, who has consistently appeared barefaced in public and at the White House, to adhere to executive orders issued by Gov. Gretchen Whitmer (D) and Ford's policy mandating masks to slow the spread of the novel coronavirus. Trump is scheduled to visit a factory southwest of Detroit that has been repurposed to manufacture ventilators.

"While my Department will not act to prevent you from touring Ford's plant, I ask that while you are on tour you respect the great efforts of the men and women at Ford " and across this State " by wearing a facial covering," Nessel wrote. "It is not just the policy of Ford, by virtue of the Governor's Executive Orders. It is currently the law of this State."

A Ford spokesperson told the Associated Press earlier this week that the company informed the White House that it requires everyone in factories to wear masks.

Will the POTUS adhere to Michigan state law and wear a mandated mask as he tours the Ford plant later today?

He actually just enjoys disrespecting the workers at the factory because they are beneath him. Child of privelege doesn't respect working people and he has proven that all his life.

And you wonder why people have zero tolerance for Trump and his cultists.

No, I don't. I understand why people have zero tolerance for them.

Trump still loves ------- off the Tonyroma's of the world

Oh, do you mean all Americans who believe that the President of the United States should lead by example, particularly during a global pandemic that has prematurely killed almost 100,000 citizens?

People who are concerned that their local community's health is more important than this President's vanity hopefully includes a solid majority - as all major polling on the topic has so far shown.

When a state attorney general has to issue a public proclamation that the sitting US President is expected to follow state law and regulations while he visits the state lest he needlessly expose workers and those he comes into contact with to potential infection, the issue shouldn't be how outside observers feel about the subject. Why should such a message ever need to be delivered in the first place?

It should be about the President following the oath he took to defend the laws of this nation whether he agrees with them or not - even if he has personal reasons which he feels should exempt him from adhering to them. Especially when the issue is potentially putting other's health at risk who don't have the resources available to them that the President does.

President Donald Trump on Thursday did not wear a mask for coronavirus protection while touring a Ford plant in Michigan, despite a state law and company policy requiring facial coverings there.
Trump was visiting Ford's Rawsonville Components Plant in Ypsilanti, which has a policy of requiring masks there. The plant is currently making ventilators in response to the Covid-19 pandemic in the United States.
Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel had said that Trump had a "legal responsibility" under state law to wear a mask when he visited the plant.

What a farking ---**** Trump is.

Keep in mind the PURPOSE of wearing a mask is not to protect the wearer (thus going to he "machismo" of the wearer), but to protect others.

So to NOT wear a mask, makes you a selfish douchebag.

Note that President Zero wore eye protection at the mask plant last week. Protecting HIMSELF. If he were truly macho, he wouldn't have worn the eye protection.

Again, it is often the case, that the message you THINK you are saying isn't the one you are truly expressing.

He intentionally disrespects the rules, a specific request by a state official, and the plant he is visiting, and thereby American workers. He sets a bad example for the rest of us because his ego is too fragile for him to comply. And what message does that send to his base? That the mask rules are for puusses.

Michigan AG Rips Into 'Petulant Child' Trump For Refusing To Wear Mask

When asked during an interview on CNN later Thursday about her thoughts on Trump refusing to wear a mask, Nessel responded that "it's exactly right" that the President won't be welcomed back to her state because his actions were "extremely disappointing and yet totally predictable."

Nessel then compared Trump to a "petulant child who refuses to follow the rules" before adding that her remark is "no joke" due to the overwhelming amount of deaths nationwide from the COVID-19 pandemic.

"He's conveying the worst possible message to people who cannot afford to be on the receiving end of terrible misinformation," Nessel said. "And it's very, very concerning."

Pressed on what message she thinks the President sent to Michigan residents by not wearing a mask at the Ford plant, Nessel responded that it's "the same message" he conveyed upon entering office in 2017, which she said is "I don't care about you."

"I don't care about your health, about your safety, your welfare," Nessel said. "I don't care about anyone but myself, and he's continuously sent this message."

Michigan elected some smart savvy women last year. Good for them.

Her comments are spot on. Trump is utterly devoid of of empathy for anyone.

Of course she was already aware Trump is threatening to withhold COVID-19 support/funding if MI offers vote by mail ...

in the middle of a pandemic.

Trump DID wear a mask today... just not in front of the press.

But somebody snapped this photo:

Take it viral ya'll.

Take it viral ya'll.

That's so fake even Trump would call it fake news.

Trump claimed he wore a mask privately but took it off before appearing in public because he "didn't want to give the press the pleasure of seeing it," according to CNN reporter Manu Raju.

TMZ published a photo that purportedly shows Trump wearing a face mask at the plant, though the image's origins were unclear.

The closer I look it does appear to be a photoshop.

However, the mask he's wearing is indeed the exact style the White House said that Trump was taking to the plant today - Presidential Blue with the seal. That's why I didn't even think it might be fake, particularly because the tweet was from a US Representative's account. She may very well have been fooled too.

Maybe not fake.

Here's a different angle.

What a ------- -----.

Maybe not fake.

Yeah, it's real. NBC is showing that same shot so it's confirmed. And really I don't feel like making light of its importance. Finally, we've got a picture of Trump putting others' safety before his own vanity. The only thing I see is that the mask makes Trump look like that he gives a flip about those of us who aren't him and can't have ourselves and everyone we encounter tested every single day.

But it took a ---- near threat from all the parties involved to make him do what he should be doing publicly anyway.

Perhaps this very discussion is the main reason why Pres trump won't wear a mask.

#19 | Posted by LampLighter at 2020-05-21 11:45 PM | Reply

Since he has recently been in contact with people who have contracted the virus he shouldn't have been allowed in the factory.
