Last month, The Washington Post reported that President Trump ignored "more than a dozen" intelligence briefings in January and February warning him of the coronavirus. They were in the President's Daily Brief, which the president doesn't read.

How in the world did we get a president who doesn't read? It's like having a president wo won't wipe his ass.

"Trump won't read anything " not one-page memos, not the brief policy papers; nothing. He gets up halfway through meetings with world leaders because he is bored."

Therefore, virtually everyone you know who did not vote for this imbecile would do a better job of president than he does.

Not surprisingly his supporters who post here will avoid this thread like the Plague. They have helped the corrupt Republican Party install an imbecile as President, not just any imbecile though, no, they found one with big debts so he is completely at the mercy of billionaires all over the world because he needs loans and then more loans to pay of the earlier loans, it's a cycle that just repeats itself.

"How in the world did we get a president who doesn't read?"

Remember when Sarah Palin couldn't name the newspapers and magazines she reads?
This didn't just happen overnight.

They've got racism, and they've got things like QANON. They hold such things tightly to themselves and don't need leader who can read, think, or have human feelings.

I'm going to assume that's not an issue, since his deliveries apparently require 10-15 flushes.

I think Trump can read. But normal print is too small and he's too vain to admit he needs glasses.

We've seen him squinting as he tries to read the teleprompter.

And remember that time he took a note to himself from his pocket. It was in huge block print.

And look how big he has to write his own signature.

I think Trump is so damned near blind anything close up is a blur.

Exactly right.

Recall the reports from WH staffers that Trump wouldn't read intelligence briefings unless they included his name in every paragraph? How can anyone with an IQ over 100 support Trump? Difficult to comprehend. Rex Tillerson was right.

When it comes to presidents, I take the attitude of 'rooting for the pilot,' but Trump's divisiveness combined with his unbridled narcissism is too much. Had a John Kasich, for example, won the WH, I wouldn't have agreed with everything he did, but I'd have known we had someone in the WH with intelligence and the ability to empathize with others.

Great thinkers always started as great readers. Ask any accomplished person and they will have read many books.

America would do better if we had to read a book to unlock our Netflix subscription each month.

By electing a conservative.

This is what happens when one whole end of the political spectrum considers education "elitist".

So, the conclusion is that Trump couldn't read his PDB because he's blind as a bat, too vain to wear glasses and that's why we have this firestorm of a pandemic raging across the country with a death toll climbing to 100,000.

GEESH! No wonder he's ducking and dodging like a prize fighter. He's afraid somebody is going to find out he needs bifocals.

You'll notice that people who don't read also have a limited vocabulary and use a lot of "filler" words or resort to profanity as adjectives.

And who can forget that other metal midget, George W., who tried to CYA by claiming he had some "Shakespeares" on his night stand.

He's another one who had ideas about an Imperial Presidency ~ like the moron we have now.

Trump is too lazy and self-centered to read. He knows everything he needs to know as far as he is concerned.

JOHNNY

That's no doubt true. But he also needs GLASSES. He stumbles over words and squints at a teleprompter because he can't read the hard copy ahead of time.

Hey now, I curse all the time and the books I have read would take a semi truck to haul. Just the books I have because I have re-read them too many times to give away took two loads in a mini-van to haul. Ok 1 and 3/4 the second load had some non-book stuff.

LOL no comic books in this house!

We do own one series of graphic novels but I haven't read them, it's my wife's. In fairness though it is the walking dead compendium, she has 1-3.

TAO

I was only kidding you.

I have a friend who collects vintage classic comic books. Some of them are quite valuable. He calls them his retirement plan. He got flooded out during Hurricane Katrina and lost quite a few of them. He loved them so much it nearly broke his heart.

# 13 Shakespeares on the night stand

Yeah my wife doesn't like me watching pornhub in the bedroom so there's plenty of Shakespeare that I can rub one off on and for the Republicans the Merchant of Venice will make you hard

I know you were messing around and while I've never been a comic geek I do know some of them have very good plots stories and are pretty universally loaded with symbolism.

I tried my hand at collecting by accident. As a kid I was visiting my grandparents in nowhere GA and ran out of books. I picked up transformers 1-4 for something to read. A decade or so later my mom packed up my room and brought up a bunch of stuff when she came to visit her first grandchild. Well going through the stuff turned up those 4 comics. Thinking oh hey first editions are usually valuable. So I checked eBay and found out they had gone up in value like10x the only problem was cover price was 25 cents each, so... If I hadn't read them and preserved them they would be worth close to a grand today but I didn't :(

Tao ~ we never think of stuff like that when we're kids.

The dems have had almost 8 years to come up with one (1) electable candidate. The last one lost to the worst candidate as she was seen as corrupt and physically unable for the job as she hid from the campaign trail. Somehow, this time around, they have seemingly fixed on an even worse solution.
