Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News

The Trump administration has discussed whether to conduct the first U.S. nuclear test explosion since 1992 in a move that would have far-reaching consequences for relations with other nuclear powers and reverse a decades-long moratorium on such actions, said a senior administration official and two former officials familiar with the deliberations.

Admin's note: Participants in this discussion must follow the site's moderation policy. Profanity will be filtered. Abusive conduct is not allowed.

Many people got cancer and died from exposure to radiation from previous nuclear testing, including actor John Wayne.

Trump's pissed-off at Nevada anyway because they're going to start allowing people to vote-by-mail.

Pure, unadulterated, stupidity.

Sweet maybe I'll get a view of the fireworks from my hotel room!

Just think of all the money I'll save on electricity when I glow in the dark.

While it would be cool to get 4K, 60+fps footage of a test... it would provide an open door for other nuclear nations to conduct full scale tests: would we really want Pakistan, India, China, Russia, etc to follow the US lead and start doing full scale nuclear tests?

The current simulated detonations in computer models are good enough for R&D and strategy wargaming, a real life test would only be ---------------.

Trump's desperate. This would be the stupidest move he could make on the international front.

Don't worry.

It's an election year and Trump is dragging tail, 164 days out.

He probably went whimpering to his campaign manager.

So somebody made up a list of things Trump could say that makes him sound like a big tough guy.

Yesterday it was a duper-duper missile.
Today it's a nuclear test.
Tomorrow is anybody's guess.

Trump fantasizes about blowing thing up.

Donald Trump asked a foreign policy expert three times why the United States couldn't use nuclear weapons if he becomes president, it has been claimed.

Mr Trump, the Republican nominee, was said to have posed the question during an hour-long briefing on foreign affairs, saying: "If we have nuclear weapons why can't we use them?"

This is the same person who threw rocks at the neighbor's baby when he was 10-years-old, and was such a delinquent his parents sent him to military school where he majored in bone spurs. The Resident has always enjoyed destroying things, fortunes, businesses, marriages, the country...this is totally on-brand for Combover Quisling.

Would be the dumbest move possible, next to invading a new country, which would have dangerous implications moving forward for many years.

Is Demented Donnie going to test a nuke on a hurricane?

Trump knows he is going to lose and has been throwing "Hail Mary Passes" for months now. None of them have been sticking. So now his gamble is to destabilize superpower relationships in hopes of causing a war or the semblance of a war.
He's been destabilizing the Middle East for 3 years in hopes of triggering another 9/11 and that hasn't worked. So time to try something new.

including actor John Wayne.

I suspect that his 5 pack a day smoking habit contributed far more to his death than bomb tests.
