Trust is earned, not requested.

Perfect. Don't need him anymore then.

We can trust you from a distance.

Hopefully a really far distance.

Maybe Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos can shoot him into space.

He can be president of the Universe - until the 02 runs out.

He-Yump!

Yes, I expect Pres. Biden to clean up another republican mess.

Trust me.
Said Trump to his wives.
Said Trump to his customers.
Said Trump to his investors.
Said Trump to his staff.
Said Trump to his rally hosts.
Said Trump to his bankers.
Said Trump to his lawyers.
Said Trump to his contractors.
Said Trump to Americans.

Only fools trust Trump.

So I guess he's given up on the summer recovery.

Got it.

Of course it will, your ex-presidential ass will be golfing until your indictment.

"Trust me" ~ Isn't that what the spider said to the fly?

Or was it what the wolf said to the lamb?

Or was it what Boaz said to Rcade?

Or was it all three?

It's a delayed-reward tactic Trump was using long before the global pandemic gut-punched the country. He has turned to it with new urgency as the coronavirus has robbed him of the booming economy that was to be the core of his reelection message.

Trump had already pledged to finally release a Republican health care plan after the polls closed " despite having served more than three years in office " along with a postelection tax cut and a "Phase 2" trade deal with China.

So same thing we've had the last 3.5 years and with the same outcome of a likely excuse for failure after another four years.

Unfortunately people will be stupid enough to fall for it.

Considering what Trump has purposely and systematically done the past three and a half years, to destroy not only the economy but also corrupt every moral value America stands for, weaken America's credibility, create worldwide instability, corrupt the judicial system, the intel community, the scientific community, the environmental community, America's social safety nets and health care system, the military defense leadership, the State Department, the CIA and FBI ~~ and all the while playing kissy-face with venomous dictators who are waiting behind the curtain to take advantage of the conditions Trump created. . . . . .

No thank you.

"Trust" is never a word that should be associated with Donald J.

In fact, it's symbolic of his delusional state of mind to which we've had a front row seat these past 3+ agonizing years.

There's a revised modern-day truism that says, "Republican politicians never die. They just smell that way."

Dems hate optimism when they don't have control. They want everyone to think the world will end soon and the only way out is to put them in power. Maybe the economy won't jump back that soon but I'd rather hear someone hoping it will instead of hoping it won't. Getting the economy to come back depends on consumer confidence.

There's too much water under the bridge (lies) to take the word of anyone (Trump) who has an ulterior motive for leading thousands of people to their deaths.

You'll pardon us if we don't join your one-man parade.

Donald wants kids back in school so parents have some place to dump them . . . so the parents can go back to work and improve the economy . . . so Trump can get re-elected.

He expects every mother, father and child to sacrifice themselves on the alter of Trump.

The other day I called it human sacrifice. I wasn't wrong.

I think we've seen this horror movie before. Only then it was brown mothers, fathers and children he was sacrificing for his own ends.

Trump optimism got us here.

Remember it would be gone in April like magic?
Remember we have 15 cases and it will be 0 soon?
Remember we shut off air travel to China and are safe?

Republican optimism continues to screw the country.
The only reason we have a country still is because Dems living in reality come into office after each Republican and put it back together.

But frankly we are running out of duct tape and we no longer have the budget to buy more thanks to Republicans.

The economy will utterly collapse in 2021, just in time for President Biden to take office. Count on it.

"The economy will utterly collapse in 2021, just in time for President Biden to take office. Count on it."

Trump is unstable enough to cut off his nose to spite his face but for now, I think he's convinced that he's going to be re-elected.

Trump called Karl Rove in for a chit-chat a week or so ago. Rove, known as Bush's brain, was the master of dirty tricks and considered himself a "King maker" for the Republican Party.

What do you think they talked about?

Of course the last "King" Rove had "in the bag" was Mitt Romney vs Barack Obama vs the State of Ohio. So there's probably an argument that could be made there.

I think we all remember that night and Rove's meltdown in disbelief on FOX.

I agree with Trump.
The economy will sour in 2021.
Moreso if Trump gets re-elected.

It's definitely going to get worse before it gets better. Biden's first job will be to flatten the curve. I fully expect it to take years and a succession of Democrat presidents.

BTW, local news is reporting that DeSantis, Scott and Rubio are in a turf war with Pompeo over 2024. They'll eat their own ~ LOL

IMHO, that was your best post ever. The one thing good about the Trump Presidency is that exaggeration is impossible.

"Biden's first job will be to flatten the curve."

First let me state clearly, I will vote for Joe Biden if he is still, unfortunately, our nominee. However, we are not stupid, we need a younger more vigorous candidate. Biden had his day, he's too f*****g old now. We need to have a younger candidate and I'm really sorry if that hurts his feelings. He presents the best opportunity in my lifetime for a third party candidate because his opponent is a crazy and evil piece of filth but he doesn't offer anything to us. He's an old man, hey I'm an old woman, but I'm not running for President.
The Democratic Party needs to draft a younger person, as John Kennedy would say, we need "vigor." Ignore my words but you will see, in the end, I am right about this. Even if Biden wins election, which I doubt he will even with my vote, he will not accomplish the goals we need to accomplish. We need Roosevelt not Biden.
Where has Biden been during the Coronavirus crisis? The Congress has spent trillions of dollars to give to billionaires and where has Joe Biden been? In his basement. That just can't work.

I trust Trumpy as far as I can throw him.

So what if he he "economy" does surge?

How many will have to die for Trumpy's Economy?

200,000? 300,000?

It's a pandemic. It's a crisis. A "National Emergy" even.

It does not care about your desires for money or power.

But that does not mean all is lost...did you know that the Chinese word for "crisis" is composed of two Chinese characters signifying "danger" and "opportunity" respectively.

There are still plenty of opportunities out there even in a crisis.

The economy will sky rocket? Hilarious! Trump's imaginary world will never happen. Restaurants have the opportunity for 25% of their normal occupancy. Who are they kidding and who is believing that nonsense?
I don't know what is going to happen but I do know that our world is not going to be the same world we left a few months ago no matter what Orange Hitler says. He is, whether or not you want to accept it, a lunatic.

Compared to where it is now, it probably will. Don't forget that in politicianspeak "skyrocket" just means it went up.

Yeah, anyone with any critical thinking skills knows this is a stupid statement. The real statement is, "The economy will boom when this pandemic is controlled and everything is back to normal". Until then, nobody can say what the economy will do.

#31 | Posted by humtake at 2020-05-26 12:35 PM | Reply

Baseless optimism is what caused this covid catastrophe. Trump said Obama left all we needed for a pandemic response and sought to cut funding for it every year, on the basis that he could increase capacity when needed.

Then when the pandemic arrived he sent a plane load of PPE to China, which was good. But then he said, trust me it won't come to the US and it will be gone in April.

He did nothing to prepare the US for the pandemic that was on the horizon.

Trumps judgement, planning and ability to respond were disasters that will kill hundreds of thousands of Americans. Who would trust a fool like that on the economy.

You'd think. But modern Republicans aren't all that sane. As far as I can tell, Trump is preparing to state that most of the COVID dead is a lie; and that Bill Gates deliberately killed the rest.

Half of them are already buying into it.

#31 | POSTED BY HUMTAKE

No. Even then it's unlikely to boom.

Consumer spending will be damaged for years because unemployment exploded. A large number of businesses are going under so less jobs will come back. There is going to be a huge amount of personal and business debt that will take years to pay down.

It's going to take a lot more than controlling the virus for the economy to come back.

It didn't have to be this way but that's what Republicans wanted.
