Death seed blind man's greed
Poets starving, children bleed
Nothing he's got he really needs
Twenty first century schizoid man

Songwriters: Robert Fripp / Michael Rex Giles / Greg Lake / Ian Mcdonald / Peter John Sinfield

Between the iron gates of fate
The seeds of time were sown
And watered by the deeds of those
Who know and who are known

Knowledge is a deadly friend
If no one sets the rules
The fate of all mankind, I see
Is in the hands of fools

Epitaph
Songwriters: Greg Lake / Ian Mcdonald / Michael Rex Giles / Peter John Sinfield / Robert Fripp

Fake data is here. The solution is maintaining data lineage to the source and having a measure for the trustworthiness of the data source. This fake data problem has been solved somewhat by science publications, although lots of false data still gets published, it should be possible to reproduce study data, and if not, to discard it.

Unfortunately, most evidence we make decisions on isn't derived from a reproducible experiment.

So we are left with having to trust the source, and people don't seem very good at determining the trustworthiness of sources.

Too much information is the same as no information. We're back to local idiots. Then, as now, the few that can use information will succeed and control the rest. The difference is that now information is available for more people to use. COVID is a great example of how the virus will disproportionately affect the stupid.

Pretty sure Pete Sinfield was the lyricist involved here.

A big problem is science reporting. Like the parallel universe stuff just recently. That's one theory proposed about an observed phenomenon. It hasn't been tested or even had the math and physics calculated but the media reports it like it's a done deal. Even trusted sources run with the headline and you have to read halfway down the article to see that it's just a proposed theory and not confirmed fact.

Then in a couple years when they have an actual reason conspiracy theorists will be like oh yeah they are just saying that to protect the lizard peoples home world.

Let me guess, all information released by Con media is wrong and everything released by the Lib media is 100% trusted and correct.

"Con Media" is an emerging (or emerged) viewpoint which is at the very least pre-industrial in orientation and in some cases Neolithic. It's superstitious and prefers its own myths to any truth something like science might create.

#6 No media source will always provide correct information, you have to look at the track record of the source.

What did different sources say about Covid, its risks, what experts say, etc?
Conservative media did, and many still are, downplaying the risk of Covid. Predictions are only as good as their assumptions, but experts have been clear that Covid is much more deadly than the flu and they were right, even with massive containment efforts.

So, who do you trust for covid info?

Here's some proof:
40% of Republicans believe the COVID-19 Vaccine is an attempt by Bill Gates to implant them with a microchip.
