Trump has done everything he possibly can to gut our system of checks and balances in American government. He can't be out of office soon enough.

It's worse than I thought...

From the cited article...

...The political appointee President Trump installed last week to investigate waste, fraud and abuse at the Transportation Department is the same official in charge of one of the agency's key divisions.

That means Howard "Skip" Elliott is now running an office charged with investigating his own actions.

Elliott serves simultaneously as the Transportation Department's inspector general and head of the department's pipeline and hazardous materials agency, whose mission includes enforcement of safety regulations on nearly 1 million daily shipments of gas, oil and other dangerous compounds.....

This is simple corruption. America is now no longer better than the worst countries. We just have further to fall.

I used to think Nixon was the most corrupt, then I though Reagan was. Then along came H.W. Bush and his deranged son. But no, Donald Trump exceeds them all and you know why? Because if is a competition. Elect another Republican after Trump and he/she will be more corrupt than anything we have ever dreamed possible. Manhood to Republicans is to exceed the corruption of your Republican predecessor.

I learned this many, many years ago. It was explained to me by a Republican. In their minds they are just reclaiming what the government has taken from them. They aren't ashamed, not even embarrassed but they will deny it unless they are only among their buddies. I'm related to some, I have absolutely nothing to do with them.

Republicans think this is a win.

They don't care about law or corruption.

This sticks it to the Dems so it's a win.

If Trump murdered someone, they would celebrate him getting off in trial because it sticks it to the Dems.

They WANT to see Trump break the law and get away with it. They WANT to see Trump be corrupt.

Hey GOP! There's still time to impeach Obama for that tan suit episode. He clearly showed up for work and violated the Federal Gov'mint Dress Code! Cut off his pension! And Biden's too, for wearing a mask in public!
