A powerful new conservative organization fighting to restrict voting in the 2020 presidential election is really just a rebranded group that is part of a dark money network already helping Donald Trump's unprecedented effort to remake the US federal judiciary, the Guardian and OpenSecrets reveal.

BillJohnson is one of their victims.

He's sure voting by mail is evil.

He just doesn't know why.

It's sad to know so many Americans are so easily duped.

"Why don't conservatives want people to vote?"

Because freedom only applies to people who share their values.

The rich southern patriarchs were never in favor of democracy in the first place, they still aren't. They used to call themselves Democrats circa the Civil War and now they call themselves Republicans since Nixon recruited them (Southern Strategy) and Reagan exploited northern white blue collar anger at bussing and resentment over the Vietnam War, along with the
(mostly white, mostly southern) "Moral Majority" of "Evangelical Christians" and their "Segregation Academies".

Now, they own the Republican Party.

But it is an unnatural coalition, which I believe is ultimately unsustainable. They have to use "wedge issues" like abortion, race, and homophobia to keep the rubes on the plantation, but all they really care about are money and power (for themselves, only).

Sooner or later the marks will see the game being run on them.
