The Trump administration mishandled the initial distribution of the only approved coronavirus medication, delaying treatment to some critically ill patients with covid-19, the disease caused by the virus, according to nine current and former senior administration officials.

MFA:

The first tranche of 607,000 vials of the antiviral medication remdesivir, donated to the government by drugmaker Gilead Sciences, was distributed in early May--in some cases to the wrong hospitals, to hospitals with no intensive care units and therefore no eligible patients, and to facilities without the needed refrigeration to store it, meaning some had to be returned to the government, said the officials familiar with the distribution effort.

The gang that can't shoot straight ...

Meanwhile, lupus patients who take hydrochloriquine are finding it in short supply thanks to Trump buying up 29,000,000 doses of it pre-Clorix cure.

"Trump buying up 29,000,000 doses of it pre-Clorix cure."

That was one of his CYA moves.

He has to fill up the Strategic National Stockpile with something besides those 5 million masks he stole from the Veterans Administration.

It wouldn't do for Trump to get caught flat footed this fall in case there's a spike.

Trump doesn't care who dies. Newly minted dictators are busy fortifying relationships with other dictators who might be plotting against them.

Paranoia increases with more power.

Trump has always been paranoid, hasn't he? Too bad he bought an unproven drug before studies on its efficacy could be carried out. Meanwhile, thousands of lupus patients suffer.

Trump: "Lupis? That's where fingers and toes fall off, right?"

"Trump has always been paranoid, hasn't he? "

Always? At least since we've known him.

The only connection between Trump and 29,000,000 of anything is what's in it for him and that's usually money (the center of his universe).

But since a second wave of Corona-19 is predicted to happen this fall and his re-election is on thin ice, he needs some last minute drama that makes him look like a Knight in shinning armor. Trump to the rescue, so to speak.

Efficacy isn't his problem. Getting over the November 3rd hump is.
