Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Saturday, May 30, 2020

Last night the Supreme Court declined to intervene in challenges by churches in southern California and the Chicago area to stay-at-home orders issued as a result of the COVID-19 crisis. The churches had asked the justices earlier this week to lift restrictions on crowds in time for them to hold services on Sunday, when Christians celebrate the holy day of Pentecost.

I bet their Gawd would tell them to stop being idiots.

Did they not notice that it was Him what sent us the pandemic in the first place?

Pay attention people.

Yes, and it was Chief Justice John Roberts who was the deciding vote, siding with the four liberal justices in the 5-4 decision, which will NOT sit well with Trump nor his white evangelical supporters, who Trump had promised that he would force all the states to open their churches immediately. This will also likely reignite the calls for the impeachment of Roberts since the far Right has been outraged that he's recently become the 'swing vote' on the high court.

Thanks to the internet, many watch services at home or meet in small groups. Some ignore the whole lock down. Many places around here have never been on lock down. Grayson County Texas has had about 72 confirmed cases and 6 deaths last I looked, average age of the dead, 80. Population of the County, about 200,000. Restaurants are open,(limited seating).

"...it was Chief Justice John Roberts who was the deciding vote"

Meaning Alito, Kavanaugh, Gorsuch, and Thomas all voted to allow any wild-assed religious superstition to override the science of public health.

It's insulting to anyone with an IQ of room temperature or higher.

Hard to pass the plate and collect tithes when there's no-one in the sanctuary. Get them able-bodied stiffs back in the doors of the Lords House, pronto!!

"which will NOT sit well with Trump nor his white evangelical supporters, "

It doesn't matter at this stage. Trump intends to reduce the U.S. Supreme Court to a useless squawk box in his second term. Dictators don't need no second guessers.

I honestly don't care. If those religious nuts want to infect each other it is fine with me. But we should require that if they attend church services together then they are restricted to their home for the rest of the week wo they don't infect anyone else while we are shopping for food, hardware or other supplies. Fortunately, you can recognize them by the stupid look in their eyes. Avoid them at all costs.

#4 - Reuters reports 2 deaths and 333 positives for Grayson County, as of May 30th. Seriously, get those eyes checked.

Umm. Another one?

I thought Gawd only got mad at them gays and such.

Now their Gawd gets mad when no one shows up for the Sunday social?

Dang they have a tough Gawd.

My Gawd insists that I should sleep in every Sunday. Especially during a pandemic. And I certainly don't want to make Her mad.
