Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Monday, June 01, 2020

Tensions rose across the country as protesters decried police brutality following George Floyd's death last week, but some are calling for peaceful demonstrations, including some of Floyd's children. Both Floyd and his sister praised local protesters for hosting peaceful demonstrations and denounced the violence that has unfolded in other cities. "The violence is not the right way to do it," Connie Mason Floyd said. "Now, this is beautiful, but the violence, it won't solve nothing." "Tearing up things, it's not going to solve anything," Quincy Mason Floyd said. "My dad is in peace and we have to be the ones to deal with all this stress. It's going to be tough to get over this day by day."

The protests have been non-violent.

It's after the protests you get a few rotten apples destroying property and causing violence. I'm in downtown Dallas. I can see the groups out causing the issues. It isn't the protesters from earlier in the day. It's young people, white and black, taking advantage of the situation.

"It isn't the protesters from earlier in the day."

I think there is some overlap, just like there's an overlap with both local and people from out of town doing it. It also doesn't help that there idiots in many places (including this forum) who defend the violence and the riots as a legitimate form of protest.
