The Geneva Conventions are rules that apply only in times of armed conflict and seek to protect people who are not or are no longer taking part in hostilities...

As the Conventions are applied during established wars: Is the context of the thread in reference to how the majority of protestors should be considered civilians, and the alleged war is against...(?)

#1 the context is Trump saying it's a war:

In a video teleconference Monday morning, Trump scolded governors.

"Most of you are weak," he said. "It's like a war. And we will end it fast. Be tough."

So he wages war on the citizens. The Geneva conventions should be followed.

"the majority of protestors should be considered civilians"

Well that's the point. He's waging war on peaceful citizens as a collective punishment. The other day he gassed citizens in front of a church so he could take a photo in front of it with a Bible.

Remember when Saddam gassed his own people.

And that was reason enough for Regime Change.

The people who agreed with that logic have a long list of Americans they want gassed.

Got it, I appreciate the elaboration.
I originally read the context of this thread to take into consideration the treatment of civilians and peaceful protesters during the war against a recently decreed "designated terror organization," Antifa.

#6 Trump is not distinguishing between violent people and and the peaceful protestors, thus the crime of collective punishment. A further issue is punishing peaceful citizens for actions of supremacist groups which are not even part of the movement.
