"He's been over coronavirus for a long time," said one veteran Trump adviser who described the president as focused instead on his desire to have "a fistfight" with former vice president Joe Biden, his presumptive Democratic opponent.

"What we have is a completely disjointed national response," said retired rear admiral Kenneth Bernard, an epidemiologist who led the National Security Council's biodefense and health security office in the George W. Bush and Clinton administrations. "We have to open the economy, but there seems to be no central leadership on that."

"I don't understand how someone can take the responsibility of being leader of the most powerful nation in the world and then decide, Nah, that's not really my responsibility anymore, we'll leave that to other people and I have other things I'd rather do,' " Bernard added.

Trump doesn't care about anyone but himself. How sad.

The profound failure of leadership is not surprising but it is constantly disappointing.

Over it? That implies at some point he actually gave a shht, which is bullshht.

The only thing Trump gave a shht about was robbing the stimulus package and the airtime he was receiving.

So weak.
He can't even put his big-boy pants on by himself.

"He's (Trump) been over coronavirus for a long time"

150,000 dead by the end of this month.

Unless God Himself intervenes, 250,000+ dead by November.

He's done with it, it's not done with us.

And now Donald Trump is hoping that the 82nd Airborne will be able to kill a few thousand more.

American is done with it. Streets are packed, shoulder to shoulder. So many unmasked it's staggering.

It all begs the question of how man disasters Donald Trump will create or help create and then walk away from?

The answer is as many as the successes he claims that he has nothing to do with.

Donald Trump is insane. He's bloodthirsty. He's gotten scores of thousands of Americans killed and he's not done with us.

Yeah, which means we're likely done with previous estimates of COVID illness and deaths.

This is right. So much closer to one half-million dead by November, then?

All of whom Trump will blame on Democrats.

The original 2.2 million in the US death was if people do nothing and there was zero adaptive behavior.

Not sure what the numbers are for "actively creating large events in every major city despite ongoing stay at home orders".

IIRC there were estimates for unmitigated spread and various levels of inhibited spread.

So yes, we're potentially looking at worse numbers since this is unmitigated spread plus.
