Moving military and federal authorities from behind the fence of Lafayette Square to half a block north of the fence heightened tension throughout the protests in Washington tonight. Protesters stood inches away from the military officials for hours. "Why are you in riot gear?" they shouted. "We don't see no riot here!"

Apparently.

Interesting we see no pro-Trump gatherings anyplace.

Is that explainable with reference to cowardice? Or that Trumpite passion is a mile wide but an inch deep?

Unclear as to what the purpose or end game is. The cops have been arrested and charged. Would it pacify the mob to lynch them without a trial. Why not let the justice system do it's job?

#27 Do you really not understand that people are seeking systemic change in America's police departments?

Yes, arrest and charge and convict the murdering officers. But until something bigger changes, a black guy will get murdered by a cop next week and the week after that too.

Many people aren't comfortable letting the status quo continue. I guess you are?

This above is EXACTLY the problem. People like you who think like this. Pure and simple ignorance. You are not even trying to understand. I do know for a fact that these events have woken some people who've been ignorant of this systemic and institutional racism that's been constantly prevalent in our country. Some people are finally getting it. Hopefully more will. But folks like you....? Worthless. Pitiful. Disgusting. You're not worth including in the conversation to fix the issues because you refuse to even acknowledge there is an issue. Because if it doesn't affect *you*, then it must not affect anyone.

#27 Because the Washington Post reported in March, Klobuchar "declined to bring charges in more than two dozen cases in which people were killed in encounters with police." Poor democratic leadership has led to people that lost trust in the system.

If you read my postings the last 15 years on law, government and the police you would not need to guess.

There's a long running trend toward more laws, more regulations and more government and I've argued against that.

Every rule or law that some well meaning cause passes, comes with the implicit authorization that men with guns will use violence to enforce it.

That's too slow for FISHPAW.

I think what FISHPAW is saying is that he'd like MN to suspend habeas corpus and throw all four cops in prison and throw away the key. ( and psst ~ while they're at it, do the same thing to Obama and Hillary.)

However, that's a Pandora's Box nobody wants to open ~~ except maybe Dictator Trump.

They kill people when they are unarmed, they kill people when they are running away, they kill people when they are unarmed, naked, and running away.

Meanwhile:

youtu.be

No word on if the naked murderer in the video that the cop was playing tag with was taken to Burger King of 5 Guys or whatever because he told the cops he was hungry.

And I'm glad they didn't kill the guy.

He's obviously got some mental problems.

The thing is, they know how to show restraint.

Cops enforce the laws passed by the lawmakers. All you have to do is look at how long those individuals have been in office, how long the two parties have been in office, to recognize the problem.

Come November, I guarantee re-election for 90% of them, jusy a guess, and no change will come because they werent ousted.

No, I don't know your post history and beyond the one I replied to above doesn't matter. I'm talking about it. That one post. Don't care what you've said the past 10 years.

And if you say you need me to explain it to you, then I can only come to one of two conclusions. You're being obtuse and know damn well what the issue is but don't care and like to pretend that it's not the real issue and we should be focused on something else instead... just as you did in your reply... "this isn't about systemic racism, it's about a bad cop who was caught and is going to be punished by the system... let it work". Yeah I paraphrased. But that's my evidence that you fail into the category of being obtuse with misdirection. I guess I was wrong in my original hypothesis that you're ignorant.

However, there is also a possibility that you are what I described in my original reply-- ignorant and just don't know any better.

But if after "15 years" of posting here, you're still ignorant on that topic and need me to explain it to you,... I'll bet all-in that you're not ignorant. Which falls you back into the first category I spoke of. The troll.

Either way, ignorance or trolling, you aren't capable of having this discussion. So I'm done with you. Need me to explain that any clearer?

Are you really dumb enough to believe this is just about George Floyd?

His death is a symbol of how this kind of brutality and racism is a common issue with police departments.

The protests have proven it with law enforcement engaging in brutality against peaceful protesters across the country.

Now you say "Its just a few bad apples".

We have the post about a 75 year old man being knocked down by a police officer for no reason and having his head cracked open. That's a Bad Apple for sure.

But there were 20 other "Good Apples" there who said nothing, did nothing, and didn't report the incident. That's frankly 20 more Bad Apples.

Honestly, if you can't grasp this simple concept, I don't think there are enough crayons to explain it to you.
