Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News

President Trump asked Chinese President Xi Jinping to help him win the 2020 U.S. election, telling Xi during a summit dinner last year that increased agricultural purchases by Beijing from American farmers would aid his electoral prospects, according to a damning new account of life inside the Trump administration by former national security adviser John Bolton.

Well Russia helped him in 201g and is doing so again this time around. Trump has tried to blackmail the Ukraine into helping him. Why should we be the least bit surprised he is trying to get Communist China to help him also? At this point, I pretty much assume that he is going to all our national adversaries/enemies for help. MAGA!

Of course he did. He only thinks of himself and his reelection chances no matter the issue.

"Why should we be the least bit surprised he is trying to get Communist China to help him also?"

Now Trump has given China to export chicken to the United States? Connected? Meat shortage was a lie, one of the largest pork producers in the United States exported thousands of pork to China while the U.S. was dealing with a meat shortage. BTW, Smithfield is owned by Chinese investors.

"Smithfield sent so much pork to China last year it ran out of freezer space"

Other highlights:

- At the same meeting, Xi also defended China's construction of camps housing up to 1 million Uighur Muslims in Xinjiang " and Trump signaled his approval. "According to our interpreter," Bolton writes, "Trump said that Xi should go ahead with building the camps, which Trump thought was exactly the right thing to do."

- On Ukraine, Bolton also cites personal conversations with Trump confirming a "quid pro quo" that Trump had long denied, including an August meeting in which Trump allegedly made the bargain explicit."He said he wasn't in favor of sending them anything until all Russia-investigation material related to [Hillary] Clinton and Biden had been turned over," Bolton writes.

- The request for electoral assistance from Xi is one of many instances described by Bolton in which Trump seeks favors or approval from authoritarian leaders. Many of those same leaders were also happy to take advantage of the U.S. president and attempt to manipulate him, Bolton writes, often through simplistic appeals to his various obsessions.

Trump hasn't acted for the benefit of Americans, but himself. What a self-absorbed traitor.

Bolton needs to go on Fox News, his old buddies, and tell the story so that Republicans will be exposed to it, otherwise they will be happily ignorant.

Add kissing China and Russian arse on top of;

Hillary isn't going to prison. There is no ObamaGate. There is no border wall. There is no migrant, terrorist caravan. Beautiful healthcare didn't arrive. North Korea still has nuclear weapons. The tax cut was for the rich. The CV-19 didn't go down to zero.

This sums it all up:

For Trump, Bolton writes, one singular goal loomed above all: securing a second term.

"I am hard pressed to identify any significant Trump decision during my tenure that wasn't driven by reelection calculations," Bolton writes.

solicitation.

well it's not the first time Trump has been guilty of this.

No wonder Trump sent all the PPE to China.

If he helps Xi and murders costal democrats, he may win the next election.

Well, why shouldn't he? The Senate made it perfectly clear that, no matter what he does, he is in no danger of them holding him accountable. #unamerican

Republican Senators are going to loose 7-14 seats this fall.

Hows that for a good motivator?

The dot Botlon leaves unconnected is that for Trump and the Deplorables, getting re-elected is far and away the absolute best way to troll the libs.

Subpoena him.

Re-submit the Articles of Impeachment.

Let the Republicans explain it again why they refuse to impeach.

Thank Gawd November is almost here.

I just hope we make it.

I'm not as concerned bout making it to November as I am concerned about whether or not there is an election or, if Pres trump loses re-election, whether he will cede power.

Something Mr Cohen said back in the day about what Pres Trump would do if he loses re-election.

He's asked Ukraine.
He's asked China.

That's not going to stop America from voting for
@JoeBiden in November.

In this "Wonder of all Wonders" confusing time in American politics let's keep one very important factoid in the forefront:

Neither Trump not Bolton have an altruistic bone in their body. Neither one of them care a fiddler's damn about you, me, America or the rest of the world as a whole. This is a grudge between two grumpy old men, both of whom consider themselves titans in the game of oneupmanship. And make no mistake, either one of them would turn this Constitutional Republic into a pile of cinders if that's what it takes to win.

We're dealing with two ego maniacs, one just a little less sane than the other, but both are determined to destroy the other in the Mother Of All Grudge Matches.

I doubt we'll see the end of this for a long time. This grudge match is way too personal to end in November 2020.

On the plus side, we'll probably have some fun after November watching these two ageing and rusted gladiators battle it out in the headlines.

Oh look, all of a sudden Bolton the war lord is the darling of the left! I wouldn't be surprised to see Biden/Bolton signs popping up soon. LOL

Bolton is more of a useful tool of the left than a darling.

Unlike the RNC, we pick our darlings a little more carefully. (Obama)

So Trump now calls Bolton 'a wacko.' Something he's said about every one of his hires who left in disgust or were fired:

"Mr. President, why have you hired so many wackos?" (ph)

Good question!! Unanswered, of course.

Fishpaw:

Bolton is a tool. A warmonger and a bully; that is why Trump hired him....to make Trump look tougher.
Since Bolton is known to take many, detailed notes throughout his career in meetings, his allegations are more likely to be accurate than not.
HOWEVER,
I still despise him for refusing to testify to these things during the impeachment. He either held them back deliberately to avoid Trump being convicted, or to sell the (now published) book. Either way, he too will be derided in the history books.

#35 | Posted by e1g1 at 2020-06-18 10:23 PM | Reply

As I've said in the past, there are no Knights in Shining Armor in this story. Trump and Bolton are both snakes in the grass. Bolton has more credibility but he's equally as insane as Trump when it comes to putting his own agenda above the best interests of the country.

Both are authoritarians. Bolton is a war monger. Trump is a simpering coward. Bolton DOES have a better reputation than Trump but then, who doesn't?

In my opinion, getting rid of Trump in November would sandbag both of them. And if Mother Nature and the hourglass does their job, November will be the last we ever hear from either one.
