The White House's post-impeachment loyalty purge is creating high-level personnel churn, felling two senior officials this week and raising new questions about Defense Secretary Mark Esper's waning influence.

The purge is affecting all federal agencies, not just DoD. But the White House's withdrawal of several DoD nominees serves as a reminder to senior Pentagon officials, both political appointees and career civil servants, not to cross a president who's keeping score.

"If there was any thought in their minds that the White House wasn't paying attention, I think that's cleared that up pretty quickly," said a third person familiar with discussions who spoke on condition of anonymity. "From that standpoint, it reinforces a reminder of who they all work for."

(Don't they work for America?)

Experts worry that the loyalty purge will cost the Pentagon talent and institutional memory, and further stretch the officials who remain as the department struggles to fill more than a dozen senior positions.

Trump is making long term plans.

With the help of Billionaires, his deplorable army, and the nations of Russia and China, he is confident he will win the reelection.

There's no questioning the fact that if Trump wins the reelection. America, the one FDR helped create, will cease to exist. And a new America crafted by Trump, resembling the former USSR, will be our nation's future.

Trump's mental illness puts him on a roller coaster of megalomanic certainty alternating with abject hopelessness and fear.

I don't think that Donald Trump plans much of anything. He just pushes along long established criminal and animal instincts.

Steve Miller may have some plans.

I believe this. Enemy agent, asset, or useful fool. He was caught in some under-age brothel and Putin now owns his ------. When Trump loses power, and only when he loses power, will we get the full story. We haven't seem anything yet. The truth will destroy our appetites for days, after we vomit out any pre-existing content in our stomachs.

Hopefully some of those folks will return to government service in a Biden administration, because all of these Drumpf toadies will have to be removed for fear of gumming up the works to make Dems look bad. I'm sure that many of the unqualified Bush hires doe the DOJ out of Xtian schools like Oral Roberts actively worked against President Obama's policies.

The GOP Senate approves of this. They could have restrained him back in January.

He'll probably tour once the pandemic is over. What's your point?

It's called reading between the lines.

It's a skill you fail to develop when you're at the level of sticking your tongue out in concentration as you Velcro your shoes.

Ya know, it was when Red Scare Joe McCarthy went after the Pentagon, that he finally got reined in.

I don't think people appreciate our genius. You know why? Because we speak. Of the pompatus of love.

But hey, we get our lovin' on the run. Sure don't wanna hurt no one.

A friend of mine worked at Capitol Records in the 70's. When it was time for Steve Miller to record a new album they'd send him in search of Miller because he'd take off on adventures here and there around the world when he was touring. One time, my friend traipsed all over Africa, following clues people gave him where Miller had been previously been until he finally found him.
