American intelligence officials have concluded that a Russian military intelligence unit secretly offered bounties to Taliban-linked militants for killing coalition forces in Afghanistan -- including targeting American troops -- amid the peace talks to end the long-running war there, according to officials briefed on the matter.

A novel coronavirus has been openly killing Americans for months, and the Trump White House hasn't really authorized any response to that either.

Speculation is that the reason Trump cancelled his golfing this weekend was in response to this story coming out, not any travel restriction from New Jersey. The governor already stated that Trump is considered "essential personnel" so the restriction doesn't apply to him. Not only did Trump know that Putin had put bounties on US soldiers in Afghanistan, he still pushed for Putin to be allowed into the next G7 meeting.

Yet again, Trump is simply the single most vile enemy of this nation to ever occupy the White House - opposing everything the Constitution stands for and represents. And the entire GOP must be held accountable and responsible for their continued enabling of this pathological monster.

This is one of the comments from a reader posted in the New York Times. It couldn't be more on point.

BAD: A Russian spy unit secretly offered bounties to militants in Afghanistan for killing American troops, U.S. intelligence officials found.

SO MUCH WORSE: The Trump administration has been deliberating for months about what, if anything, to do about the intelligence assessment.

Trump is quick to demand States "Dominate" the streets when the streets are filled with Black American protesters, he is quick to tear gas Americans legally and peacefully protesting outside the White House so he can beclown himself in a photo-op.

But he can't make a decision, can't even rouse himself to tweet out a warning when Putin has his spy's pay militants to kill Americans? Was his push-back removing U.S. troops from Germany? Further undermining NATO?

Trump has not "adopted an accommodating stance toward Moscow". He is not standing at all. He is completely supine, unable or unwilling or too compromised to protect American interests against authoritarian regimes.

There is no bottom to this Presidency. No end to the treachery.

Let me guess. Putin denied it pretty hard. So...

"I don't know why it would be Russia."

Trump is going to have to serve prison time after he's left office, for the sake of the nation. We can't leave a precedent that a man can find some way to schelp into the presidency and then have carte blanche to do so much damage. Trump needs to surrender his money, his freedom. Both.

Today, we learn that Russia is paying Islamic radicals bounties to kill US troops. Trump has known about this but refuses to do anything.

Bunker Bitch will finally do something once he's finished spitting up Putin's DNA.

What a disaster for our nation!

The U.S. military should immediately arrest Trump and Pence. They should hold a trial and if convicted they should be publicly hung. WE need to demonstrate once and for all that when Presidents commit treason they will pay with their lives.
We let Nixon, Reagan, Bush 1 and Bush 2 to all commit treason and did nothing, the buck has to stop now, once and for all. Everyone involved in this should also be tried for treason. To me, this is the most shocking crime ever perpetrated by an American President.

This should be on Special Reports on every network in America alerting all Americans to the treason of their president. If any Republicans still support him after this then they are without the slightest patriotic feeling. Every Senator, Congressman, etc. should be questioned extensively to find out if they knew, and if they did they should immediately resign or be arrested.

Our media needs to do their ---- jobs about this, right now.

Putin's puppet:

In March trump was briefed that Russians were paying Afghans to murder US troops. He also fired the DNI and gutted the national counterterrorism center in March. Oh, and for the first time since 2006, the DNI threat report was kept from the public & congress. In March.

Wait Dotard did SOMETHING after he learned that Russian agents paid bounties on US troops, he lobbied for Russia to return to the G8 AND he sent Russia our good, working ventilators at the height of Coronavirus.

This was briefed to the WH in March, according to other sources.

A lot has happened since then, but no real US response or sanctions, or anything

Trump did try to get them reinstated into G8.

And offered them PPE.

Trump will either need to win in November, or escape from America.

Russia will welcome him as their unwitting patsy.

Put on your big girl panties and get a grip. It's a world stage, the US has been doing far worse for years and years. Even if true (proof please), don't whine when your troops are targeted in a - gasp - war zone of your own creation.

Trump is getting kickbacks for each dead or maimed US soldier too.

People are saying there are tapes of Trump peeing on black US soldier corpses.

The GOP prefer dead soldiers so their taxes don't have to pay pensions.

ICE also has Facebook groups that brag about---------- and murder.

The Reich wing support pedo rapists and murders that would shame Epstein.

I served in the USAF under Lyndon Johnson and Richard Nixon. Johnson was the more honorable of the two; but Nixon was a Navy veteran, and in spite of being a corrupt -------, was no traitor. I did my time, got a SEA returnee early-out from active duty, and upon completion of my inactive reserve duty, got an Honorable Discharge. Now it's getting to fifty years later, and I have doubts anything I did in uniform was worth it. However, I went back to college using the Vietnam G.I. Bill, and the VA covers my healthcare needs for free, so there's that.

So China attacks us with the virus and Trump does nothing.

Meanwhile, Russia puts bounties on US troops and Trump does nothing.

Trump should hang for what he hasn't done to protect America.

"Now it's getting to fifty years later, and I have doubts anything I did in uniform was worth it."

Such an honestly composed and intelligent post. I opposed the Vietnam War and the Iraq invasion but I never believed that the soldiers doing the fighting did anything wrong. Y'all followed orders as soldiers are supposed to do. The Politicians committed the crimes and I totally agree with your comparison between LBJ and Richard Nixon. LBJ was a cold war warrior confused by a Civil War in Vietnam, Nixon was just a calculating evil piece of filth who used the promise of an exit from Vietnam to win a second term in office.

It worked too, but his other less nefarious crimes caught up to him and he finally had to resign in disgrace.

Brought to you by the same war-mongering paper that brought us the Iraq War and Russiagate. Unnamed sources and not and not an ounce of proof, just carrying copy for the MIC to keep the Cold War alive while China is the real enemy, but not the real money.

The administration has confirmed it but says Trump didn't know about it and now he plans to do something about it. So much for your "not an ounce of proof".
So now the question is, was Trump really not informed of it or did he know and do nothing. Not a good look. He either built the most incompetent national security team in the history of the country or he's an enemy of the people.

We raided the Taliban, found American cash, and got some of the Taliban to talk " but Trump still says "hoax"

The crucial information that led the spies and commandos to focus on the bounties included the recovery of a large amount of American cash from a raid on a Taliban outpost that prompted suspicions. Interrogations of captured militants and criminals played a central role in making the intelligence community confident in its assessment that the Russians had offered and paid bounties in 2019
BTW, even Fox is reporting the story, which has been confirmed by multiple news agencies.

Never, never, never tell the boss anything he doesn't want to know!
