It really isn't the kneeling players who are disrespecting the flag. Our flag, and the freedom it represents, is being disrespected by LEO who have taken that freedom from so many Americans.

I wouldn't exactly call it pro sports. It's soccer for crying out loud.

Plenty of European men's teams made the same gesture of solidarity.

Bet they got paid a lot more for it.

Take a knee Jarhead. Your Institutionalized Ignorance is showing. Is America still in the world?

Professional Soccer is probably the most popular sport in the world.

Not probably, it absolutely is.

Rsty You are probably right. Just gave myself an out because I didn't actually look.

Many years down the road it will have become a tradition to kneel and some child will wonder why everyone kneels when the National anthem is played. And we will remind our children of the horrors we experienced before and under Trumpy and how we treated our fellow citizens so we never ever do it again.

Financial aquisition is their sport, that's the true purpose of organizations such as NFL, MLB, PGA and even the absolutely "believable" sport NASCAR.. NWSL not so much.

So, in Willowby's defense it's easy to understand how money pig antics spoil an even great thing, such as the Olympics, which I personally boycott and despise for having to do so. Phester might be right about that - I seem to hate my own decisions more than embrace the failings of others. It's a tricky road.

That said, the Thorns have really brought excitement and opportunity the Timbers ruthlessly exploit professionally.

One of these is not like the others!

Good job noticing!

So...since you noticed... should the league blackball her for being difficult and refusing to follow the crowd? Like the NFL did to Colin Kaepernick?
