I do a lot of business in the EU and on a call this morning a client of mine in the German Parliament "hinted" that once the US removes all similar Schengen travel restrictions to the US in place then the EU will likely reciprocate.

So, you believe the ban the EU has in place is more of a eye for an eye, political game.

And not as a result of President Incompetent and his band of deplorables actively trying to get COVID-19.

I'm just telling you what she said, you can draw whatever conclusions you like.

It is well documented that Cheatolini put the ban on Schengen travel first without consulting the EU and the EU was furious.
