Who ordered the bayonets?

Should a military display swords, guillotines or light sabres to combat peaceful protestors? Is this a joke? Bayonettes?! To stab, mortally wound so you can chop at the next citizen? This entire government is loathe to respond with anything less than deathly consequences.

If you want body parts, just stick with tanks and shotguns.

Plagues, high unemployment, an un-elected head of state, and if any of the peasant get out of line they get run through by armored soldiers?

It's official we're in the medieval era again.

Someone fetch me my claymore.

Relax. Depending on their MOS, it's probably part of their basic equipment when deployed. They're NOT going in with fixed bayonets.

Nothing like prepping the military to stab peaceful protestors exercising their right to free speech to show us that Trump is the Law and Order President.

Maybe he'll step up his ethnic cleansing game while he's at it.

This is disgusting and outrageous

Not surprising in Trump world...just be happy he hasn't carpet bombed the protesters ...yet

We're not afraid of peaceful protests, but we do want the burning , looting and destruction to stop.
The troops were brought in to stop the violence.
I know that, you know that and so do the millions of sane sensible Americans

Trump's terrified of peaceful protests. He can't stop talking about how he's going to crush them. There was nothing violent, no looting, nothing going on a Lafayette Park. There was nothing going on in Aurora where the violin protest/memorial was going on for Elijah when the police came out in full riot gear and started harassing the people there listening to the music and remembering the pure spirit of love that was Elijah. Elijah who the police murdered.

You're on this site enough to know the truth, so why are you lying about it, PhesterOboyle?

What does being on this site have to do with truthful news?
The news that shows overturned police cars on fire?
Or the news that shows businesses on fire with looters stealing like rats on a cheese locker?

Why does that attract rather than repel you?

#12 | Posted by Zed at 2020-07-05 10:46 AM | Reply

It appears you've missed the millions of people that protested peacefully in city after city where no looting happened. No fires were set. You're locked on to a few places where some violence, early on, happened. A lot of it because of the Police.

You also have nothing to say about the two protests I gave you?

Seriously - how stupid is it to send police into a protest about police brutality, where the police, surprise, use brutality to try and put down the protest?

Are you a Trump supporter? I don't want to assume.

I've missed nothing,
The millions of peaceful protesters have my full support.
Why are you afraid of shining a light on the violence?

I can't judge others who've seen injustice and the system fail time and again, for reacting by destroying things. They filled in the void because leadership has consistently throughout history provided an inadequate response. I wish for no harm done unto others; however, I can empathize with "no justice, no peace."

#14 - I'm glad to hear that, Phester.

Why am I afraid of thing a light on the violence? I'm not. I referenced when it happened, the cause for it, and the fact that it is, thankfully, rare. Honest violence is an outlet, even if it's unpleasant. A lot of the violence was incited by and driven by the police, by Trump himself (Lafayette Park - which you still haven't acknowledged), by the National Guard and BOP.

The violence has stopped almost everywhere. It had stopped shortly after the protests started. The last time we had violence was with the Elijah memorial and protest. That violence brought to us by the Police or Aurora CO.

What I'm against is the use of the images of pockets of violence, out of context, to try and pit Americans against Americans, and to make all protesters "evil."

You know why I say that? Trump's rhetoric at Rushmore and at the National Mall, July 3rd and 4th, respectively.

I have to say, on the subject of this thread - bayonets?
What country are we living in? What the F**K is going on?
ENOUGH.

The protesters in Lafayette Park were not being violent. They were not looting. There was no riot. They were protesting. They had peacefully assembled to petition the Government for a redress of grievances. The military was Shamefully dishonored and used to attack American citizens. They were then gassed (with delicious spices!) and trampled by troops and horses. So Trumpy could hold a bible upside down and act all Trumpy and say Trumpy things.

Our Generals can apologize for this shameful act but you can't.

What was even more worrisome to me than them cutting themselves with a bayonet was them shooting themselves in the foot with those live rounds.

After all it was Army.

And. Yes they had live rounds. Now that is dangerous. More dangerous than bayonets. Giving the army live rounds! Holy moly.

Thankfully they never left even the base. Because they were never needed.

It was all for the show. The Humpy Trumpy Upside Down Bible Show.
