I always wondered how the guy who wrote Uneasy Rider later became a such a trumptard.

Brain damage. He died of a stroke, probably not his first. Made him simple.

Strokes don't necessarily make a person simple. It might be impossible to speak clearly or move smoothly but the person inside is still going strong.
Charlie could have had an MRI and an Echocardiogram every 120 days with his money.

Charlie Daniels was a great man and a successful musician. If anyone here ever saw him and his band during the Fire on the Mountain album days, they were always left with a sense of astonishment. Don't like his politics? So what, you ----------?

Charlie Daniels was a complicated man. On the one hand, he was an accomplished musician, particularly on the fiddle, and he helped many a budding musician find their way. I met Charlie at a record store way back in the 1970s. I rode my bike to the store, one of those tie-dyed, black-light-festooned, quasi-head shop hippie places that were all the rage in those days. Got his autograph and talked to him for a bit. Seemed like a decent guy.

On the other hand, he became more and more a right-wing nut job who seemed increasingly consumed (that's the same as "ate up" to my fellow Southerners) by anger and hate. He started going off on embarrassingly mean-spirited in-concert rants, especially his anti-gay crusade, by the 1980s. His last tweet came yesterday morning. "Benghazi ain't going away!"

I hope there's a nice gay angel to welcome you to the afterlife, Mr. Daniels. Go in peace and play that fiddle.

I'm a bigger fan of his cousin Jack. Anyway, RIP to his nicer, younger form.

Never cared for him but I did accidently attend a performance of his in Jacksonville many, many years ago. That said, RIP Mr. Daniels.

Yeah, the Devil called, and he wants his fiddle back!

Devil done gone to Georgia and stole another soul.

You can't blame the devil. Charlie done provoked him by singing that song and living to 83.

RIP brother.

No matter what. Can't have an ounce of respect for someone who thinks like that, fiddle or no fiddle. C-YA loser!
