Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Tuesday, July 07, 2020

A man at was filmed Monday yelling and threatening shoppers at a Costco in Fort Myers, Florida, reportedly after an elderly woman asked him why he wasn't wearing a mask. Clad in a "Running the world since 1776" tee shirt, the man puffs up his chest, balls his fists and yells "I feel threatened!" while belligerently advancing on the person filming. The man was "escorted out of the store" by Costco staff, according to the person who posted the video to Twitter.

Can't let that BS go by unchallenged.

In public anyone can video you.
In public anyone can "put a camera in your face".
In public anyone can ask you any question.

In public you do not have to respond to any camera "put in your face" or answer any question. You have the choice of how you respond. No one is forcing you to respond in any particular way except to followed the posted rules.

No shirt. No shoes. No mask. No service!

If you do not desire to be filmed or asked strange questions "in public" because you cannot help but respond aggressively or violently then it is best if you don't go into "public".

Perhaps bring a counselor or a service animal or perhaps medication is required to keep you calm in public.

#88 | Posted by donnerboy at 2020-07-08 10:51 PM | Reply

Donner,

What happened to this man reeks of entrapment that I find morally wrong.

The camera was already up before the man responded and very likely induced a reaction.

Of course the reaction was all his. Time and again I have said we are responsible for our own mistakes.

Again...this looks like entrapment because of the use of the camera.

I repeat...

America has a new type of terrorist armed with cameras ready to post any indiscretion on the internet without your permission.

I mean...forget accusing someone...the judge and jury has decided to go straight to death row.

Donner,

I was right....

You didn't get it.

#90 | Posted by BillJohnson at 2020-07-09 04:36 AM | Reply

Donner,

Read the definition of "entrapment".

For instance, the tv shows where men try to meet young girls and instead show up to an adult and get filmed and busted. I don't think of that as entrapment because they are simply recording what would have happened anyway because the men are stalking young girls.

However, in this case I strongly believe the use of the camera is what angered the man more than asking about the mask. He overreacted and the judge/jury public have decided the anger is simply due to the question.

No...the camera is the problem.

To me it reeks of entrapment which is doing something to provoke a reaction you might not have gotten otherwise.

In my younger years I saw liberals as thoughtful compassionate visionaries.

You're not that.

HAHAHA. This sort of stupidity has been going on forever, the camera didn't MAKE this guy go crazy. The fact that he's an entitled douche bag is probably responsible for that. I do pity this man, but I also think he deserves what he gets. They are, after all, c simply consequences of his actions, and if there's anything Conservatives believe in is suffering the consequences of your actions.

C'mon Bill, you believe in personal responsibility, don't you? This is 100% on this guy, he now has to live with his actions. It's not 1%, 10%, or 100% the fault of the camera holder and you know it.

Here's a hint to people - when someone is holding a camera at ya, try not to be a jerk and then - surprise! - people won't judge you for being a jerk.

I'd like to see companies be part of the solution. Instead of just firing someone how offer them the opportunity to undergo a psych eval combined mandatory anger management therapy and place them on a probationary period in which the employee is required to undergo period reassessment for their physiatric issues.

He was in insurance sales? If he was really good performer, I imagine they wouldn't have fired him for this.

But this was likely the straw that broke the camel's back.

I get it that anybody can film someone else and post what they want on social media and important parts that provide context can be left out and it. As a result, people can be unfairly criticized for their behavior because the whole story wasn't included.

I'm not saying that's what happened here and regardless what was left out, this guy is screwed either way and he deserves it.

Expect more of this....we have some real militant -------- refusing to wear masks and we also have many folks willing to film what they can in places like this.

In my younger years I saw liberals as thoughtful compassionate visionaries.

You're not that.

Ouchie!

Liberal slam!

In my youth I saw Republicans as the party of personal responsibility.

You are not that because they are not that. I was naive.

Now I have no mercy for fools acting foolish and hurting those around them with their foolishness

As I have always said. You can believe anything you want as long as it does not "pick my pockets or break my bones".

Again...this looks like entrapment because of the use of the camera.
I repeat...
America has a new type of terrorist armed with cameras ready to post any indiscretion on the internet without your permission.
I mean...forget accusing someone...the judge and jury has decided to go straight to death row.

See James O'Keefe and Project Veritas for further info on Bill Johnson's hypocrisy.

"America has a new type of terrorist armed with cameras ready to post any indiscretion on the internet without your permission."

Like when those four cops who were beating Rodney King were victims of a terrorist attack.

BillJohnson's heart bleeds for them.

Johnny,

What maybe needs done is psych evaluations of anyone who would post a revenge video or thinks its normal.
