"But if we get to fall and unemployment is in single digits and Dow over 30k he's going to get reelected," one said. "That's why you don't want to jump out right now and separate yourself because in the Fall the whole world will be different."

Per another consultant: "Maybe if we don't talk about Trump and we run on issues and we talk about constituent service and we continue the antagonism on the libs maybe we eek this thing out by a couple of points."

These people are parasites. Absolute scum of the earth.

Consultants are people hired to do a job, it's a PR+ data science field. It pays the bills...

Trump's made that job hard. He's created challenges for almost everyone in the GOP.

Once Trump is out....it's going to be fun to see what folks say without fear of a consequence.

Loyalty to Trump is everything right now. There is still enough voters with enough loyalty to Trump, it keeps politicians from distancing themselves from Trump.

It couldn't happen to a more deserving group of pturds. I hope every single enabling one of them loses.

It's called Stockholm Syndrome.

The GOP is a Death Cult.

I believe the stock market will be key. Which is why they're pumping it.

There are a lot of 'upper middle class and up' people that *pretty much* care about that and that only.

Appeasing this group and the neo-confederates may be enough to win the EC.

What else is there left to care about?

Exactly. We've monetized every last nook and cranny.

Nothing left to do but lord over it and 'be glad you're not them', with the AC on high.

"If, if, if."

Is that all they got?

What about the giant elephant of an 'if' in the room that's sitting on everyone's chest like a COVID infection?

Are we going to ignore the inevitable economic ramifications of a second wave? Worse, Trump is actively trying to hasten the second wave by insisting ALL schools open in the Fall. I really don't think he subconsciously wants a second term; this would be the only valid explanation regarding his recent behavior.

"Are we going to ignore the inevitable economic ramifications of a second wave?"

Yes.

Next question.

Al;so it's worth pointing out it's not Trump's call to open schools.

So, you know, call that a victory for Federalism, that the President can't directly order thousands of children to die.
So much winning!

>Also it's worth pointing out it's not Trump's call to open schools.

True, but Trump supporters are putting a lot pressure from the ground up on school districts to open now.

You can't let this phantom menace f with the pre-game pig roast.

I think you've hit the nail on the head. There's no denying that America has surrendered any semblance of adherence to a moral code under Trumpism. Our status as a model for truth and justice has been shredded.

But hey, the money's good.

Rearranging the deck chairs again?

Yeah.

That'll help.

There's only one solution to the GOP's problem.

ritual suicide.

Don't let the Democrats force access to doctors, education, and clean air on your family!

#10 and #19 Agree I took the March crash as a chance to jump in and now I'm sitting pretty. Lets face it the government will sell every last inch of the US to keep the market high so the game may be rigged but it's the only game in town. I'll ride the coat tails of the rich until the US dissolves into corporate city states and hope I own stock in one with low crime good jobs and lots of trees.

I didn't think Snow Crash was supposed to be prophetic but I've been wrong before.

#18 It's not just Trump supporters I hear a lot of parents desperate to get the kids back in school. They are going bat guano crazy.

Amen man. I saw some companies get hit during that March ~20 market free fall that wouldn't be severely impacted through the pandemic and invested in the future.

Only mkt segment which I'm in that got hit and stayed hit is my REITs, but my time horizon on those is real long term with the dividends.

For the 1/100th time, the reason we show so many Cases, compared to other countries that haven't done nearly as well as we have, is that our TESTING is much bigger and better. We have tested 40,000,000 people. If we did 20,000,000 instead, Cases would be half, etc. NOT REPORTED!

Ha. This is nothing. If more than one child contracts COVID at school this fall, GOP pols running for office will be shot dead in the streets by a pack of screaming Karens, tiger moms and even Mennonites. Screwing mom and dad is one thing, but getting the kids sick for political purposes is so far beyond the pale. Ron DeSantis will be dragged to Gator World, covered in hamburger and left to fend for himself. In Texas, Greg Abbott will be rolled into the Colorado River off the Congress Avenue Bridge, ad nearly every GOP Senator running for re-election will forget how to pronounce the name 'Trump'...

Or do what many Republicans have done, "I didn't vote for him."
