... a host of GOP lawmakers distance themselves from the Republican standard bearer ...

Too little, too late.

There are a plethora of reasons for Republicans not to vote for Trump this time.

His treatment of Lt Col Vindman should cost him support in the military.

Republicans as a group are not fed up enough with Trump until the polls show him losing in every state.

@#4 ... Republicans as a group are not fed up enough with Trump until the polls show him losing in every state. ...

I'm not yet convinced that is the reason why Republicans are not yet fed up with Pres Trump.

That aside...

I do wonder, regardless of the current reason(s), why Republicans seem to be less than concerned about the long-term damage that Pres Trump has been, and continues to be, doing to the Republican party brand.

Or maybe the Republicans are OK with Pres Trump turning the Republican party into an overtly white supremacy party?

'Republicans Are Really Fed Up'

Trump predicted that exactly this was gonna happen:

"We're going to win. We're going to win so much. We're going to win at trade, we're going to win at the border. We're going to win so much, you're going to be so sick and tired of winning, you're going to come to me and go Please, please, we can't win anymore.' You've heard this one. You'll say Please, Mr. President, we beg you sir, we don't want to win anymore. It's too much. It's not fair to everybody else.'" Trump said. "And I'm going to say I'm sorry, but we're going to keep winning, winning, winning, We're going to make America great again." billingsgazette.com

I mean, on one hand an Iraq combat vet and Purple Heart recipient whose promotion to bird colonel was held up by Trump and forced into retirement out of spite simply because he told the truth. Compare that to Trump commuting Stone's sentence for NOT telling the truth. Outrageous, all of it

I gotta ask...

Do the Republicans realize the reasons you cite?

If they remain as enablers of a white supremacist, what's the point?

Really, what is the point?

The Republicans have gone over to the side of white supremacy.

Can we (i.e., the United States) continue to be a two-party system?

How do we deal with what Pres Trump has transformed the Republican Party into?

What color is the sky in your world?

BTW, why are all big cities run by Democrats (even in red states)? Are Republicans unable to address the needs of big cities with highly diverse populations? Republicans are just as free to run for mayor, etc., as anybody else, aren't they?

Republicans are fed up with Trump?

That's just stupid.

Americans are fed up with Republicans.

Just in the last year they have drained the treasury and put all that money in the stock market.

America needs to go back over every transaction and take that money, all of it, back. If we don't do that there will be no confidence in the American financial system ever again.
All pretend profits in the stock market need to be forfeited because they are all based on theft of dollars created by Powell and the Fed. Powell needs to go to prison for the rest of his life. Probably the biggest thief in history. Unbelievably, he actually stole more that George W. Bush which is almost unimaginable.

DJT was never equipped to be the Leader of the Free World. Handing him a second term will prove how really stupid we Americans are! Vote in November - the future of our country depends on us!

The Republican Party is now the party of Trump whether they like it or not. And it seems that most of them like it. Even if somebody like Romney doesn't subscribe to the racism, by remaining a Republican he enables it. He helps make Rs the Senate majority party.
