Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News

For years, Donald Trump has been claiming that he can't release his tax returns because at least some of them are still under audit by the IRS. On Sunday morning, the president's personal lawyer Rudy Giuliani blew up that excuse once and for all.

There is no possible way he's still under audit for returns out of statute. Pity the fools who fell for that lie.

Also, as a former IRS Commissioner pointed out, the only way you can legally be audited year after year is if you're audits constantly turn up shady behavior.

Rudy Colludy is good for sticking his foot in Trumps mouth again and again.

I'm sure he'll pull the old "I never said that" defense any moment now.

It's almost like he got screwed over by Fat Nixon on a promise.

I'll wager Rudy is giving this legal counsel for free--Trump can't even pay him to shut up...

I find it interesting, the statements both Giuliani and Trump made about "settlements" and "deals". Clearly, that means things were found that were out of sorts, but also they keep acting like just because the IRS decided it wasn't worth fighting you for more money that there can't be separate criminal actions based on information in those returns.

It's not like Congress or the State of New York are beholden to follow the settlement the IRS reached, even if the crime is directly related to tax fraud. That pre-supposes that the criminal act is even under the purview of the IRS. I don't think, for example, money laundering is in the IRS's jurisdiction.

Interview began about Trump tax returns. Rudy insists Soros is out to get him.

When your personal attorney is as dumb as Rudy you'd probably be better off representing yourself.

Rudy is great...
he has the best "Oh ---!"
face in politics...
And he is the quintessential
Trumpian Republican...lies
badly, gets caught all the time,
head spins and exorcist contortions
ensue shortly thereafter...

Awesome... :-D
