Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News

[The nation's top infectious disease doctor Dr. Anthony] Fauci, a member of the White House coronavirus task force, called Covid-19 a "pandemic of historic proportions." "I think we can't deny that fact," he said during a Georgetown University Global Health Initiative webinar. Fauci compared the current crisis to the 1918 influenza pandemic that killed more than 50 million people globally and about 675,000 in the US. "That was the mother of all pandemics and truly historic. I hope we don't even approach that with this, but it does have the makings of, the possibility of ... approaching that in seriousness."

Fauci is a good man and a concientious scientist. He deserves better than to be a foil for Trump's deranged nonsense.

This epidemic could end up worse than 1918, because we still don't know what long term damage the virus is causing.

Trump is truly so out of his depth here that it is unbelievable. If this ---- was made into a movie nobody would even watch because it's too stupid to be real.

But it is.

There is a movie about the Trump Presidency.

It's called "Idiocracy".

Idiocracy is an art film compared to this... This is four years of watching pigs roll around in feces.

There is no comparison of the death rate between the Spanish Flu and COVID-19.

Today would be a really good day for the coronavirus to disappear like a miracle.

Woodrow Wilson would do better combating the Coronavirus than Trump even if he was only armed with medical knowledge from 1918.

True. But there's more of us now and we're far more mobil.

Plus we're finding long term effects, even in some mild cases.

I hope Fauci is wrong. We know the ways to slow the COVID pandemic. The 1918 Spanish Flu pandemic was spread by ignorance; this time it's spread by stupidity. Eventually, all the stupid folks will be dead or unable to get into the WalMart, so will change their ways. Of course, as documented in "The Great Influenza" people were healthy one day, and 48 hours later, dead. Thank God that's not happening now...
