Should the Dallas Cowboys have given up what the Seattle Seahawks did in order to acquire Jamal Adams?

1st round pick in 2021, 3rd round pick in 2021, and 1st round pick in 2022

Steep price for a top tier safety who plans to get paid when his contract is up! Next year's 1st rounder may not mean much as NCAAFB may or may not happen but 2022's 1st rounder will hurt Seattle in the long run. With salary cap implications in buildings a roster, teams need to hit on their rookie contracts.

It wouldn't be a surprise to see Seattle attempt to deal a player this/next year to get a 2022 1st rd pick back.

Trading away two 1st rounder picks is a "win now" move, because when previous franchises did that, it ends up catching up and negatively impacting the roster.

Two 2x 1st round draft pick trades that I remember:
Tampa trading for Keyshawn Johnson (from the Jets).
Cowboys trading two first round picks to acquire Joey Galloway

Later, Tampa Bay and Dallas traded Keyshawn for Joey in a swap.

It was a lot to give up, but Seattle values safety's more than most teams do.

Also Seattle usually is not good at picking in the first round, they like to trade out of it to acquire more picks later on, where they are better at drafting. Seems odd it it's true.

It's not like Seattle gave up 2 top 10 1st round picks. Seattle always drafts late because they are usually in the playoffs the previous season.

Adam's is a stud.

The big question now will they get enough pressure on the QB, but there are still some quality FA pass rushers out there.
