Lung transplants for COVID deniers should be the same as liver transplants for alcoholics.

Waste of an organ.

Why should the medical staffs be overrun by --------- that have don't have the sense to protect themselves and others.

Organs are in short supply.

I would also not support, and IIRC neither does the medical field, the giving of livers to still drinking alcoholics. Nor should active smokers be given lung transplants.

So no, it's not that his head "brings me pleasure," it's that we shouldn't be wasting a precious resource on those who are willfully stupid and who created their need for it to begin with.

Do you feel sorry for somebody who takes a butter knife and shoves it in a light socket? No. Because you shouldn't.

Being a COVID denier isn't any different.

He shouldn't have gotten the transplant.

He didn't deserve it.

Medical care should go to those who actually took precautions only.

#16 | Posted by Sycophant at 2020-07-31 11:11 AM | Reply

I am fine with him getting the transplant. Everyone screws up.

In this world it is easy to be misled.

But now he needs to travel the country and tell everyone what happened.

To tell the truth. How he was misled. Who misled him. So others won't fall into the same trap.

He needs to use this opportunity given him to try and help others escape Trumpy's web of lies.

#17 | Posted by donnerboy at 2020-07-31 11:18 AM | Reply

We all get to pay for his stupidity. Like it or not. It would be nice if he would travel the country telling everyone how he screwed up but such people rarely do.

I'm glad most of you guys are not health care pros. You have the empathy of Trump. Everything is not about virtue signaling. This guy was a good candidate for survival with transplant and he did in fact survive, the system worked as it should,no organs were "wasted".

All the other considerations you have brought up are crap.

Why is he somehow less worthy of survival based on his wrongheaded opinions?

In fact it might be even better if he kept believing Benghazi and Pizzagate and Birtherism, but set the record straight on COVID-19.

Fine, suppose you're correct. Why did the drs. on his case select HIM for transplant? Huh?

They saw no other looming need that precluded him from consideration. If they had I'm sure the other patient would have received those organs.

His need was timely and the treatment was effective.

Hypothetical, unmet needs of others are BS.

Hey idiot, in some places your given care for COVID if you're more likely to survive. Comfort and sent home if you're not.

Rationing of valuable resources is a reality in medicine, especially now.

Sorry, but part of that is and has been not giving organs to recipients who aren't fit to receive them. Actively drinking? Don't get a liver. Actively smoking? Don't get a lung.

If it was his rights! to not wear a mask and do whatever the fark he wanted because god damnit, 'Murica!, then it was his right to die from such stupidity.

These are both objectively false.

Trump has never been a good businessman or a good man.

He's a failure. He's a con artist. He's a racist.

These are factually true and there countless documentation of each.

Hahahahahaha

A good businessman who was given everything by his daddy then still needed his daddy to bail out all his failures.

A good man who leaves his wives when they get wrinkles, starts fake cancer charities, hires white supremacists, and sells american foreign policy for personal political favors.

At this point, you're simply a chump for still liking him.

You're not trump's fellow american. You're his mark. You're just too dumb to see it, like all the rest of your cult.

Trump built the economy on Obama's 8 years of steady progress. Then within 3 years Trumpy destroyed all the progress we had made with his Criminal Negligence.

Now we sit in the ruins of that economy. Trumps economy.

...

Yet the left that claims that Trump is disabled, mocks him horribly.

How embarrassing for you. Trump makes a mockery of everything he touches. And you worry about what reasonable people say about him? Trump is fair game. The handicapped are not.

You call people who reasonably disagree "toads".

You call Trumpy a "good man". A good man does not allow hundreds of thousands of Americans die and refuse to do anything and refuse to take any responsibility then try and shift the blame to others.

You are obviously a very conflicted and confused person.

Have you been drinking Trumpy's disinfectant again?

He's losing his protection in the Senate:

"With Republicans at risk of losing control of the Senate, Majority Leader Mitch McConnell is reportedly signaling to GOP candidates that they can distance themselves from President Trump.

Unnamed senior Republican officials close to McConnell told CNN that the Kentucky Republican has made this clear to vulnerable candidates as Trump stirs controversy with his response to the coronavirus pandemic and handling of racial issues following the death of George Floyd. ...

McConnell told Fox News this week that the 2020 campaign is a "knife fight in an alley already, and we very much understand the Senate could go either way."
