Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Friday, July 31, 2020

The Daily Beast: The president isn't really trying to delay the vote. He is trying to preemptively delegitimize the likely results. Two administration officials and another individual close to the president say that what they saw Thursday morning was the most recent tantrum--"frustration," as one of the officials put it--of a president in search of a scapegoat in case he's denied a second term. "He is terrified of losing this one," said the person close to Trump.

He should be.

January 21, 2021 he is handed over to SDNY for prosecution as Individual #1.

SDNY resumes investigations into Gooliani, Ivanka and Jared.

The biggest mistake he ever made was running for President.

Americans should be terrified if Trump is re-elected.

Vote as if the future of the American Democracy is at stake. It is...

Okay, let's assume Trump is defeated soundly. What do you think will happen after that? Will he go quietly into the night? I know many are hoping he gets indicted by the SDNY folks. But that's not a certainty, that I'm aware of, anyway.

And whether he is or isn't charged, you know Trump and his base will not be chastened. They'll whine ever louder about their victimhood. They may resort to violence. The movement into authoritarianism and incivility feels like one that will be around a while. How do we close this awful chapter?

"How do we close this awful chapter?"

Nothing short of an American version of South Africa's Truth and Reconciliation Commission is going to fix our problems, but post-war style denazification efforts might help with the trump stains.

I've thought the same thing.

The only explanation in my mind for why he would do such a thing is that his situation was far far worse than people imagined and he either take the risk or suffer greater consequences.

If you look at the severity of Trump's mental illnesses and his age, the psychosomatic effects of the judgement of his crimes will prevent him from living long enough to be punished for them.

What he is actually terrified of is proving his evil father correct, when his father said he was a worthless POS, and of being remembered as the worse president ever.

Follow the rule of law.

Trump is afraid of being held accountable for his actions.

If Trump broke the law then he needs to be held accountable like everyone else.

No man is above the law.

I don't give a crap about what his supporters think about being victims.

They don't care about trumps victims. 151,000 dead and still counting. So their little hurt feelings are gonna have to take the back seat to the rule of law. They will get over it. Eventually. If they want to be properly represented then maybe they should not select a criminally negligent moron to represent them next time.

If he had his head together he would be relieved. Thing izzz...the big orange pig brain laid waste to his party whilst running for office... ever since then... his former contenders pants have not been above their ankles as they remained in the bent-over position for Trumpibunkerboi.

Must be something weighing heavy on his mind ... like losing everything

Once he is no longer useful to Putin, he will let Dementia Donny twist in the breeze.

Putin doesn't give a crap about anyone but Putin. Dementia Donny might think they are friends, but the reality is that Putin sees him as a tool to be used and when that tool is used up and broken, it will be tossed aside.

Dictators don't have friends.

Dementia Don, like every spoiled child of privilege does not lose gracefully. He never has. Hell he cannot even win gracefully.

His election as president was the single biggest mistake the US has ever made outside of allowing humans to be owned as property (which in and of itself makes our declaration of independence a joke).

He will cry about rigged elections, fraud, illegal aliens voting and the how the presidency was stolen from him. All with no proof or evidence. He is laying the groundwork for the last four years.

He will attend zero transition meetings (not that he would have anything useful to add to them).

He will not attend the press conference the morning of the inauguration.

He will not attend Joe Biden's inauguration.

He is a petty small tyrant. Always has been. Always will be until Vlad gets him with polonium.

That's because he knows he's going to prison! Since he will do anything to stay out of prison, he will do anything to stay in office. However, he must be careful not to do anything that might be considered seditious. If he does, he's got even bigger problems.

Not outside the realm of possibility. It would be a humbling move, however, and humble is not a word that can be applied to the man who has put his stupid name on everything he owns.

Still... if someone shrewd or slick enough is able to appeal to his vanity, and he can be convinced that he's making some kind of hardball "art of the deal" type deal (Resign and we promise not to roll out the guillotine; act now and we'll throw in these monogrammed bath towels with your initials!), he might just say to hell with it all.

Trump never wanted to be president anyway. His candidacy was just another brand-building exercise. Surely to God his curiosity has been sated. I mean, I don't know why anybody, even a normal person who actually cares about people, would want to president with the mess we're in now.

I honestly doubt it. Once Orange Adolf is out of office, Putin will have no further use for him and start grooming Tom Cotton, Fredo Jr, and any other GOPer who he can turn into a useful idiot with some cash or kompromat. I point to the sudden trip several GOP Congress critters took to Moscow on July 4th a couple of years ago for no apparent reason, other than for Putin to show the world that he had several influential GOPers by the short and curlies. Dotard is a useful idiot to Putin, a tool Putin is using to get his way in Europe, with NATO and he hoped the G7. Putin will cast Drumpf aside like a broken shovel after November.

Combover Quisling had better be afraid because I have a feeling President Biden's AG is going on a hunting trip to root out the Drumpf Regime's misdeeds and what has been exposed so far will be just the tip of the rot and corruption. Since Barr, Dotard and his supplicants in Congress were quick to investigate Obama administration officials, I think the NY AG and President Biden's AG will have no qualms investigating, indicting and trying every Drumpf Regime official who crossed the line, including Dotard himself, as well as Kremlin Ken and Barbie.

Not pursuing the Banksters for crashing the US economy was what cooled the left's appeal for President Obama and lost him the Senate, I doubt President Biden makes the same mistake. I think EVERY Democrat and plenty of independents are eager to see justice done.

GUNSLINGER

A shiver went down my spine when I started to realize that Trump might not wait to lose the election in November. He's already exhibiting signs of a cornered rat. He could step on that third rail any time and go off on some wild tangent to hold onto power.

I'm rather certain that Mr. Putin has known for a long time that he's not getting any bang for his buck from Trump. I'm just as certain that the rash of phone calls between the two of them lately have been less than cordial.

So I'm wondering just how far Trump will go to redeem himself . . . not for his failure to America . . . but for his failure to Russia and how Mr. Putin is going to feel about Trump's ineptitude blowing an 8 year hole in Mr. Putin's plans for expansion.

Putin can ask but there is no better stooge in the world.

Not one else is positioned to do so much damage.

Yes. He will continue to damage and undermine and threaten right up until Jan 21st. It's the plan. Pull as many wires and wreck as much machinery as possible.

But he cannot destroy the government. Because destroying the government needs to be done in the dark. He doesn't have enough time to do it when no one is looking. Because them Fake Newsers are watching his every move.

No wonder he hates them so much.

"Trump has given Putin everything he wants except the end to sanctions."

Trump didn't give Putin the one thing he wanted the most ~~ to move Ukraine and NATO out of Putin's way. Putin's one big dream is to restore Russia to it's former glory as the U.S.S.R. The road to Russia's expansion is through Ukraine.

Trump was supposed to clear Russia's path forward but he was too inept to make it happen. Trump did try to block an arms sale (already approved by congress) to Ukraine (an ally) for military equipment that would stop Russian tanks already massing on Ukraine's border to invade ~~ but Trump failed to do that, too.

So I'd say Mr. Putin is dissatisfied. Trump spent his entire administration pursuing his own vindictive grievances and other petty nonsense and left Mr. Putin waiting in the wings. Now there is no second term to make up for all that lost time.

If I was Mr. Putin I wouldn't waste any more time and effort on a screwup like Trump. I'd start grooming a replacement for Trump in 2024.

#32 | Posted by Twinpac at 2020-08-02 03:35 AM | Reply

Trump may be terrified of losing but I'd say he doesn't have much choice.

He's failed at every diversion he's tried to exploit and all his threats have fallen flat. His precious rallies succumbed to the coronavirus. His efforts to bypass the CDC and Dr. Fauci was met with BOO_HISS from the public. China and North Korea are playing him like a cheap fiddle. He's losing by double digits in the polls and GOP members of Congress have been advised to "save yourselves.". It doesn't appear that Russia is coming to the rescue this time.

Now Trump has been reduced to flailing his arms and making threats against Chinese teenagers who are known by their ominous chant of tick-tock ~ tick tock ~ tick tock.

#33 | Posted by Twinpac at 2020-08-02 04:15 AM | Reply

And yes, before I get corrected, I know who TicTok really is. But for the purpose of fooling Trump's rally organizers in Tulsa and creating an atmosphere of paranoia, they were thought to be Chinese teenagers.

It's tragic reading threads celebrating Trump's loss.

He's got three months.

If Trump does have so much to lose.

CLOWN

I thought it was tragic celebrating Trump's treatment of immigrant children in cages.

He's got three months, half of which will be spent on a golf course cheating on his score.

A cornered dog is less dangerous than a cornered rat who will chew his own leg off to get free.

Expect a bigger fight from him, only if begging Vladimir Putin for a second chance works.

CLOWN

Now that Trump has run out of time to turn America into his very own empirical dictatorship, get used to the idea of "celebrating" the survival of the U.S.A.

It's going to one for the history books.
