Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Sunday, August 02, 2020

Donald Trump prompted a familiar barrage of criticism on Saturday by visiting one of his own golf clubs as the country remains caught in numerous intensifying crises, from the raging coronavirus epidemic to anti-racism protests to the failure to extend benefits to tens of millions of jobless Americans.

I love golf... but if I were in the White House ... I'd just want to stay in the White House and work my ass off.

March 14, 2016
If you're here at the White House, and you have so much work to do, why do you fly? Why do you leave so much?

August 6, 2016
I'm going to be working for you, I'm not going to have time to be playing golf.

August 25, 2016
I won't be playing golf.

And yet his staff claimed that he was directly involved in the weekend negotiations with Congress over the latest COVID relief bill, that is until it was pointed out that Trump actually at one of his resorts playing golf. Suddenly the story changed to that Trump would be informed as to how the negotiations were going, once he comes in off the links:

@#2 ... at one of his resorts playing golf. ...

From the cited article...

...CNN, which tallies Trump trips to his golf clubs, reported that the visit was Trump's 283th trip to a golf course while in office and his 376th day at a Trump property....

Trump's latest visit comes as the death toll in the US from the coronavirus tops 153,000 with more than 4.5 million positive cases -- by far the largest totals in the world. It also happens as Washington fails to agree on an extension to a vital $600 weekly payment to jobless Americans -- who will now lose that benefit....

Piglosi and Schmukie Chucky are at home, the president cannot sign anything until congress approves it. Without a bill to sign the president cannot do anything about it. Don't blame him for playing golf, Obozo played plenty too. They deserve time to relax as president is a taxing job.

@#5 ... Without a bill to sign the president cannot do anything about it. ...

Au contraire.

Pres Trump can participate in the negotiations and help bring the two sides together. That is what leaders do.

But your comment shows that you do not seem to think of Pres Trump as a leader. I would agree with your assessment.

The answer is yes. Trump has played 2.6 times more golf than Obama in his first 2 years and 91 days

Piss off. Obama playing golf was supposedly a sign of him being a poor POTUS who hated America.

Trump golfs at least twice as much and now it's no big deal.

Again, piss off.

Also, Trump doesn't work. That's the problem.

Yeah, what with his daily "executive time" (that means watching FOX all morning) which means he can barely drag himself to work before noon ~~ plus plotting, scheming and tweeting half the night, punishing people who said mean things about him AND, after all that, still squeeze in three days a week playing golf.

Well, just so you know, we're all on board ~ Trump definitely needs to be relieved of all that stress. We're all going to do our best to make it happen ~~ starting January 20, 2021.

All that golfing and cheating yet he still has a 64 handicap. He's such a pathetic loser.

....why don't you guys just leave Trumpy alone playing golf, he's not even a good golfer..

..this way he won't screw up the country anymore than it is, this keeps him out of the

White House and doing something else....like putting sanctions, and more sanctions on countries

that don't agree with him.......he's made enough enemies already!

If I had the sense that Trump was truly busting his ass to lead us out of the darkness of this triple-headed disaster, I'd say let him golf.

If I saw evidence that Trump was working night and day to craft a national plan to test and protect Americans from Covid, was bringing together a true cross-section of America to address issues around police brutality and inequality, was drawing up a new health plan that would guarantee affordable coverage to everyone, or was demanding that the millions of his constituents who have lost their jobs through no fault of their own would be financially supported through the scariest time of their lives, I would put aside his comically obvious hypocrisy about playing golf during this crisis.

But he's not doing any of those things. He's not even trying. Solutions based on consensus require effort, humility, grace, and dedication to fairness, and that kind of stuff bores the living crap out of Donald Trump. He sees those qualities as signs of weakness. If he can't bark out orders, he's not interested and would rather play with his putter.

Whether he wins in November or he doesn't.

Trump wants you to know he doesn't give a shht about you.

You know that already. But he's rubbing our collective face in it

He's laughing.

That even though America is going to shht.

He's still going to win the election in November and there's nothing anyone can do about it.

And the dems hold the benefits up
LMAO!!!! Is that what Fox sNOOZe is putting out there? What a complete joke!
The House Democrats already passed their bill 2 months ago. May 15th IIRC.
The Senate Republicans are split in half - with half the Senate Republicans saying they'll refuse to vote for anything!

Don't even pretend this is the 'dems' holding anything up. Mitch has lost all control over his Republican Senators.

#24 | Posted by YAV at 2020-08-04 02:56 PM | Reply | Newsworthy 1

Mnuchin and Meadows are meeting with the Democratic Party's leaders Pelosi and Schumer, not even bothering with Mitch or the Republicans. That's how far gone the Republicans are.

The only hope is to get all the Dems in the Senate to pass a bill that is good enough to pull over a few Republicans.
