A prototype of SpaceX's next-generation Starship vehicle has successfully flown to an altitude of 150m (500ft). The uncrewed test vehicle rose up on a plume of exhaust before deploying its landing legs and touching down softly. The flight was carried out at SpaceX's test site near the village of Boca Chica in south Texas on Tuesday evening.

It's the first flight test in almost a year for the Raptor engine, which will be used to power Starship.

Very cool. Interesting cigar shaped ship. He might just make it to mars yet.

LOL that looks pretty comical actually.

Like the bad moon landing concepts from the 50's and early 60's.

Was also a little surprised to see the engine itself on fire when they showed the internal view...

It did look strange but it was just a prototype. I am sure the final product will look even more like a Jules Verne rocket. Elon likes that eccentric retro stuff.
