So what's your beef with Kanye running for president? Closet racist?

Do you also think that only very smart people and black people get promotions?

Of course the GOP helped him, Kanye isn't going to siphon any Trumpers away from Cheatolini.

So what's your beef with Kanye running for president?

America just tried this stupid experiment four years ago, electing a political neophyte into the presidency that neither knows nor understands the Constitution or anything about governing a nation of 300 million people.

Now our economy lies in shambles, Americans are needlessly dying at a rate of one every 80 seconds because of his intentional, malevolent malfeasance, and 30 million citizens are unemployed without any confirmation that their government's leader and his party are willing to address their problems and anxieties, which the Democrats did 10 weeks ago to try and save them and our states from going broke.

Not to mention Kanye's wife publicly admits that he suffers from bipolar issues and is in need of mental health support.

What's your personal malfunction in thinking such a man is fit to be President under any circumstances, but especially during the multiple crises now facing this nation?

Nothing dumb about it. This is very strategic.

Kanye is a Trump supporter.

By entering the election. Kanye helps Trump's chances.

2016 Trump won by like 40,000(?) votes. (Something like that.)

Now.

I'm not say saying ALL the people who vote for Kanye would have voted for Biden. Kanye will probably attract votes from people who may not have otherwise voted. Or are protest voting.

But, even if a % of those who would have voted Biden, decide to vote Kanye. It maybe all Trump needs to secure his reelection.

I also witnessed the experiment that the DNC tried nearly 4 years ago with Hillary too. didn't work out so well.

"Now our economy lies in shambles" You think this is "shambles"? What would you have done? Lock down the workforce for months on end? Enforce martial law? Nothing any member of either party could have done would have been successful dealing with this. Our economy is a consumer based economy that needs people working and spending every day.

What's your malfunction that thinks we should keep people who qualify as a candidate from running for office? Which constitutional right(s) do you think should be taken from people? Freedom of press for those that dont think like you? Freedom of speech? the right to bear arms?

Hey dipsquew, we should have done what every other nation that successfully smashed their curves did. It's been posted over and over again. Try Google if you don't know after 6 months of Trump's idiocy. But here's the short version: Test, Trace, Isolate.

Are you really that stupid? Wait, don't answer, we already know.

But, even if a % of those who would have voted Biden, decide to vote Kanye. It maybe all Trump needs to secure his reelection.

Really Clown? The percentage of blacks who are already intending to vote who'll move to Kanye is shorter than Zeta's unit. The only thing Kanye will drive might be younger people who otherwise wouldn't bother voting at all.

Who in their right mind thinks that Kanye has the ability to lead this nation during the worst set of crises it's ever faced?

Even black people aren't that masochistic.

Try reading moron. I didn't say one word about Kanye's RIGHT to run for President, I said that he isn't qualified to run for President and that the only people likely to vote for him this year (2020) - in the middle of the worst economic conditions ever AND during a global pandemic - are young voters who likely were never planning on voting for either major party candidate.

Other than celebrity, how do you think Kanye is going to position himself as the best alternative over the other two? What ideas of his will resonate with voters that are different? Personally, I can't think of a single thing.

Well, I guess he matches Trump in that department after all.

Tony, i hate to say this again but i feel like you are really missing a good chunk of reality here.

Trump (and Kanye) intend to play up Biden's remarks to an interviewer in which he said (paraphrasing) "you ain't black if you don't vote for me." They intend to promote the argument that Democrats take the black vote for granted, what have Dems done for blacks lately, etc etc etc.

Kanye just got on the ballot in Wisconsin with the direct help of a GOP law firm. Wisconsin will be incredibly close this year just like last time. I'm not saying Trump and Kanye's argument is accurate or convincing - i'm saying that if they can convince even a few people via a slick and well-funded advertising campaign, Biden is going to have a problem.

You have every right to think the Kanye angle is stupid, but nor every voter is as smart as you.

You asked ME the question stunod, and I answered for ME.

I believe that he is not qualified because he has nothing to run on that differentiates him from either candidate other than his celebrity. No ideas for fixing problems, no idea on how to run foreign policy, no idea on solving any issue a rational person would think is better than the others'.

Do you think celebrity will address the problems facing this nation right now? I want you to tell us what YOU believes qualitatively makes Kanye a viable choice for President, not whether he can run for office if he meets each state's requirement.

Anything is possible and no one will ever go broke underestimating the intelligence of American voters. They elected Trump after all.

I truly see no appreciable numbers of voters willing to waste their vote on Kanye when doing so helps bring more Trump. If anything, Kanye might drive more blacks to register and perhaps drag their sane parents to the polls.

Biden's going to have a unquestionably accomplished and qualified black female vice presidential running mate. Black women are the strongest competent in today's Democratic base.

Kanye will look like a fool if he tries to play the race card. Again, the only issue that matters is the pandemic and surviving it first, then revitalizing the economy. Everything else is dependent upon that first and foremost. Biden has already stewarded just that and has the better plans on doing so again.

Sorry, Kanye has nothing to offer, even less than Trump does.

Red flag, maybe. But does it disqualify him? this is politics where Tonyforthoofy don't get to make the rules. They have to play by the rules. build a better mousetrap, find a stronger mouse. So far, they've fingered (loosely stated) an alzheimers ridden fool that loves huffing hairspray, and anointed him as the next president of the USA. This is to be seen based on voter's opinion but yet, they think they get to decide who is qualified to throw their name in the hat as a candidate for the presidency. And they refuse to acknowledge that they have no right to do so. Once again the extreme left will try to strongarm forcing a ------ candidate on the country while proposing the alternative is worse. Good luck with that.

Today we all learned what we all already suspected: Donald Trump-connected Republican operatives are behind the effort to get Kayne West on the ballot in the 2020 Presidential race. This has set off a round of controversy, furor, and " as always " fatalism on the part of some Resistance members who fear that Trump has finally managed to wave a magic wand when it comes to his reelection.

Fortunately, cooler heads are trying to prevail. For instance, during her MSNBC show tonight, Rachel Maddow reported on the GOP effort to get Kanye West on the ballot, before sarcastically remarking "Sure that might work, what else you got?" The point of course is that this is a desperate low-percentage play that's unlikely to get Trump and the GOP anywhere.

Palmer Report would like to add that if this Kanye West stunt is the best plan that Donald Trump and the GOP have up their sleeve, then it's clear that they don't have any solid plans. Trump and his allies will keep trying to find ways to cheat in this election. But there are absolutely no magic wands in politics. This is still going to come down to which side is willing to work the hardest on things like voter registration and voter turnout, not silly stunts.

Bill Palmer

Yes, there's still tons of hard work to be done, seriously. And very little of it regards Kanye.

As far as I'm aware. Only two things (officially) disqualify you from running for president, age and American citizenships.

But. Shouldn't a candidate have to be on enough ballots to have a reasonable chance of winning the election. Otherwise they have no chance of winning. Which, should automatically disqualify them.

For example: "I didn't leave the Democrats, the Democrats left me."

If you have abandonment issues, that is music to your victim mentality ears.

At least 90 percent of the posters here are trolls.

The right wing ones eventually get bounced. Since this is rcade's private Animal Farm, even the most egregious left wing ones get a pass.

Don't post from websites that have been shown to be spreading misinformation, after being asked not to, and you'll be fine.

Could you imagine the rioting chaos by the left if Kanye caused Biden to lose? Especially if he won the popular vote. It would be worse than the first time. I had to go to ASU right after the 2016 election. There were "this is a safe space" signs everywhere. I didn't even ask. I thought to myself, "you've got to be frigging kidding me?".

"The right wing ones eventually get bounced."

The only people who get bounced are the ones who can't stop lying, dissembling, and denying global warming.

You'll notice I don't engage in any if that type of behavior. (Though I certainly have made some educated guesses which may or may not be true, such as Sniper is on disability, Eberly is cranky because of personal problems, and Nullifidian died of COVFEFE-45!)

Denying global warming is the only one you don't do. You're one of the more equal animals here.

At least we know who the troll is voting for!

Good luck with that troll.

It's an interesting time to be a black man of means who is able to reach millions of minds ready for change. His personality issues are Kanyes great opponent. No offense to the young, black and idealistic, but I prefer Bernie. He's younger, blacker and far more idealistic, imo.

Wakonda forever! Isn't that Kanye's platform? An f'in movie! I know what can fight racism: only picking people your color to lead you. Is that the logic? Isn't that what got us where we are in the first place? How about picking someone smart? Selling shoes and music does not make for a good leader. Sorry, but looking at wealth and thinking it makes someone a smart leader of ALL people is bad logic.

Translation - I'm too dumb to see why electing a sociopathic moronic con man to the presidency is such a problem.

Breaking News from your Dear Leader, Trumpy says Joe Biden is so powerful he is capable of hurting God Himself.

Is there really any doubt that the kids were right?

I felt the same way in 2016.... guess what, I was right too, except I underestimated the destruction he would lay and he still has to vacate office which is gonna be a real hoot.

Biden... Don't be that stupid...

Of course Kanye is just running to siphon votes away from Biden. Anyone with any functioning brain cells knows that. I hope his career takes a nose dive, he deserves it. What an a*****e! Fortunately he is a well known idiot so it is doubtful that he will get very many votes.

#88 | Posted by danni at 2020-08-07 09:28 AM | Reply

#88. The operative words are "not very many." This is a low percentage play. But "death by a thousand cuts" is a real thing. Especially in terms of votes. This coupled with other efforts only has to tip a few votes in a few areas to affect the outcome. Sad to see Kanye allowing himself to be used this way.

That said, like every other American, he has the right to run. It's just a matter of what impact that running has. We'll know in just a couple months.

A smart black man, made his own fortune instead of a white geriatric with dementia like Biden. If offered, I bet Mr West would accept the Democratic nomination and guarantee a Democrat win for President.

Biden: So close to picking a VP he can smell her.

#90 | Posted by visitor_ at 2020-08-07 09:59 AM | Reply

Biden's going to have a questionably accomplished and unqualified black female vice presidential running mate with great smelling hair.

#91 | Posted by visitor_ at 2020-08-07 10:03 AM | Reply

Awwww, isn't Visitor cute? He wants Dems to be up in arms about Biden smelling a woman's long hair, while he's perfectly fine with Trump grabbing their short hair.

Funny how bankrupting casinos, stealing from charities, and stiffing workers are "accomplishments" without "question".

If Republicans didn't have double-standards, they'd have no standards at all.

I do not understand what everybody is upset about with Kanye running for POTUS. He is just another typical republican -------. I have a hard time telling the difference between them anymore. Crazy as bat guano, selfish, egotistical and wrong about everything.

This page has been hilarious. In any state where Kanye West is on the ticket he's likely to siphon away black votes that would have otherwise gone to Biden. That's why all of the butt-hurt. That's why all of the anger when I point out he meets the qualifications to run for president and there is nothing the Democrats and the left can do to prevent it.

How much is trump paying him?

It's a clever trick. Still won't be enough.

Your boy Humpy Trumpy is going down. Hard.

Enjoy your election shenanigans. We have a few up our sleeve, too.

Did you like the attack on the NRA?

Pretty clever huh? Even if they aren't dissolved No Russian money will be funneled thru the NRA and no cute Russians spies seducing half of the NRA this election!

That's gotta hurt just a little.

It's strange that you don't know these things.

Trump will do anything to undermine this election. This is just one of his many shenanigans he is trying to pull. Because he has to...he is losing. Bigly.

Hope you have enjoyed Mr Toads Wild Ride.

He really should just resign and save himself all the embarrassment and humiliation that will come with his crushing defeat in November.

#105 Anything Trump tries pales in comparison with utilizing the NSA, FBI, CIA and DOJ to illegally spy on his campaign and try a soft coup on his electoral victory.

This is classic projection.
