Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Thursday, August 06, 2020

Reflecting on the coronavirus pandemic, (Donald Trump) declared, "If you look at children, children are almost -- and I would almost say definitely -- but almost immune from this disease." The president ... promoted his nonsensical claims to the public via social media, which for Facebook, was simply a bridge too far [causing them to remove the posting]. Twitter also removed the video last night after it was promoted by the Trump campaign, rejecting it as "misinformation."

Facebook's statement:

"Facebook removed a video post from President Donald Trump's personal page Wednesday that included a segment from a Fox News interview in which he falsely said children are "almost immune" to COVID-19, the disease caused by the coronavirus."

The move -- the first time Facebook has removed Trump misinformation about the coronavirus -- was surprising in large part because the social-media giant has been so reluctant to take similar steps, especially around the president's many other deceptions.

The Trump campaign proceeded to accuse the company of "flagrant bias," suggesting the president's aides want social-media companies to allow Trump to mislead the public -- even about matters of public health -- with impunity.

Though there was some confusion about this last night, Twitter -- which has been more assertive than Facebook in alerting the public to the president's eagerness to mislead -- apparently told Team Trump that it would not be able to publish any tweets until it deleted the misinformation about kids and COVID-19.

Rut roh, are Facebook and Twitter finally growing a set in regards to policing Trump's intentional and ignorant lies and distortions? At least this time they are.

Donald Trump is a pathological liar who would put your kids' lives up for a bet about COVID19. He is despicable. Vote for him if you will but when he costs you the lives of your kids don't whine. You've been warned, your kids are not as important as his economy.

And, to think this imbecile believes you would agree with him, I know you don't but if you don't you do need to get active and support his opponent. Whatever you want to say about Joe Biden, he isn't willing to sacrifice the lives of your kids to gain political advantage, Donald Trump is trying to sell that idea right now.

Trump and co do not want to mitigate covid

They want to spread it.

Trump is insulated from covid thanks to the US taxpayer
Everyone he contacts is pre tested

You on the other hand, not so much

A raging pandemic is a good way to excuse postponing or eliminating elections all together
Kids are great as virus incubators
Make schools open, infect everyone possible, postpone/outlaw elections

"If you look at children, children are almost -- and I would almost say definitely -- but almost immune from this disease."

Even if they are, so what?

Trump truly doesn't understand children will spread it to their families.

He doesn't need to understand, because he doesn't care.

Most families didn't come to his inauguration, so he won't be attending any of their funerals either.

They sure will.

I've never signed up for any social media like MySpace, Facebook, Twitter, etc. I'll never do it.

So imagine my anger when one day I was googling my business and discovered it has it's own page on facebook!

Facebook is creating profiles for businesses without their consent. Facebook MFers!

"Typhoid" Mary was "immune" to typhus. She still killed at least 3 people and infected at least 53. Some estimates place the number she killed at 50. She was forcibly quarantined twice by the New York State Department of Health, the second time lasted 23 years until she died.

She never did show any symptoms.

It only took 160K deaths for facebook and twitter to act. Heck of a job.
