Last-ditch negotiations at the US Congress to forge another stimulus package for the coronavirus-ravaged economy have collapsed in stalemate. Democrats and Republicans remain at odds over everything from unemployment benefits to financial aid for schools to cash injections for states' coffers.

I think the Republicans have decided to leave Joe Biden with a depression.

Where is Pres "The Art of the Deal" Trump?

Why isn't he providing the leadership to help the two sides come together for the benefit of Americans?

The rich are doing fine. Many have made huge profits off of Covid19.

The poor can die of starvation or possibly die from Covid19, their choice.

Welcome to capitalism.

You are expendable.

"I think the Republicans have decided to leave Joe Biden with a depression."

Rumors are that Jerome Powell is planning to raise interest rates to 4 or 5%, that would plunge us into a depression, and that is why he would do it, if Biden wins which will actually do exactly that. The Republicans don't care about the nation, we don't matter to them, it's only about wealth and power for them. If Biden wins we need a Roosevelt like revolution of out economy, a total revolution of our Supreme Court even if it requires expanding it to many more members to defeat the evil, corrupt conservative 5 majority. I hope Joe Biden wins, and I hope when he does he uses the power of the Presidency, along with the majority of the Senate and the house to destroy the affects of too many years of right wing rule.

Trump and the GOP are idiots. They refuse to fund state and local governments who're both dealing with all the additional costs associated with higher unemployment, lower tax revenues and mounting expenditures from addressing the coronavirus. The dumbasterisk GOP seems to think that the Dems are only trying to "bail out" blue states, when EVERY state is negatively impacted when 30 million Americans are unemployed thru no fault of their own.

The GOP's obstinance is going to create a huge negative cascade throughout this nation as millions face foreclosures and evictions, along with the lack of adequate income to buy food or pay bills. There is going to be a drop in the real estate market because rents/mortgages go unpaid and owners will not be able to pay their notes either - creating another depressed market for vulture capitalists to swoop in and profit from.

Meanwhile Trump is trying to issue executive orders that violate the Constitution. January 20th cannot come fast enough.

The dishonest folks of the GOP are just waiting until the election is closer, then they will give the peasants a handout to buy their votes. That is all that is happening here, Republicans worrying about debt is a joke, they happily watch as Powell props up the stock market. No, debt is a tool, only usable close to elections and this one is still a little bit too far away. When it is thirty days these same liars will be making handouts to every voter in the country.

Tony, the fact is they don't care.

"There is going to be a drop in the real estate market because rents/mortgages go unpaid and owners will not be able to pay their notes"

They know that, then corporations will swoop in to buy up that prperty at deflated rates. The house across the street from my building is a perfect example. The corporation that owns it now but it for much less than its current value back in 2008, now they rent it for $2000.00 per month. The plan from the right is to turn all of us into renters.

"The plan from the right is to turn all of us into renters"

This.
The plan is quite simple:
The rich get richer, at the expense of everyone else.
Rents do not create wealth. Rent simply redistributes wealth, upward.

Let's revolute. C'mon man have you no honor?

Takin' it to the street. More protests. More Americans standing up to the man.

The George Floyd protests are gonna be trivial in scope and effect compared to what's coming if the doles aren't resumed at adequate levels.

Starvation and homelessness amid plenty for the 1% will cause CHAOS like this country has never seen before.

Hungry kids and infectious Disease,is a bad combination all by itself. Throw in an anomalus stock market propped up with debt and taxpayer funds and you've got a recipe for real violence.

Both sides are gonna be out looking to blow ---- up.

COUNT ON IT.
