Intelligencer columnist Jonathan Chait breaks down the Friday night public announcement of William Evanina, director of the United States National Counterintelligence and Security Center, about foreign meddling in America's upcoming presidential election. Chait explains that Evanina made it clear that not only is Russia trying to get Trump reelected but "Even more important is what this warning unmistakably implies: that Trump and his Republican allies in Congress are actively cooperating with Russia's campaign."

For such Right-wing posters as remain here: Face it, you want Russian help to re-elect Trump. You welcome it, in fact. You're cool with being traitors.

You've got your reasons. All of them reveal you as --------.

Hopefully enough to leave said country for good.

I'll repost this from the other DNI thread:

If/when Joe Biden wins the presidency and the Democrats gain control of both houses of Congress, after dealing with the coronavirus, one of their next priorities has to be the establishment of new laws making the receipt of and dissemination of foreign-provided disinformation both a criminal felony and an expellable offense for any member of Congress unless it's immediately reported to the FBI.

Trump's own handpicked DNI publicly announces that the Russians are providing kompromat in an effort to sully Joe Biden and diminish his public standing right before this year's presidential election. And elected Republican members of Congress are their conduit for doing so.

Farging disgusting.

Going back to Feb 2020, when this occurred...

Trump reportedly angry that intelligence officials warned lawmakers Russia is aiding president's re-election bid
www.marketwatch.com

...Intelligence officials have warned lawmakers that Russia is interfering in the 2020 election campaign to help President Donald Trump get re-elected, two officials familiar with the closed-door briefing said Thursday.

The warning raises questions about the integrity of the presidential campaign and whether Trump's administration is taking the proper steps to combat the kind of interference that the U.S. saw in 2016. ...

One day after the Feb. 13 briefing to the House Intelligence Committee, Trump berated the then-director of national intelligence, Joseph Maguire, and he announced this week that Maguire would be replaced by Richard Grenell, a Trump loyalist, on an acting basis. A pool report later Thursday indicated that Trump had told reports a name on his list of candidates for a permanent DNI is that of Rep. Doug Collins of Georgia....

It seems that Mr Grenell didn't last long in the position, replaced by Mr Ratcliffe, a Trump loyalist.

I guess eventually Pres Trump will have the Intelligence community of the United States staffed with people who will parrot only what he wants them to say. However, it might take a second term for that to occur.

Of course, Pres Trump says...

Republicans are funneling Russian talking points to America.

The GOP are now officially The Russian Propaganda Party.

At what point does this level of ignorance become treason?

There was no scandal about Biden at all.

The scandal is Republican cooperation with Russian propaganda campaigns.

No wonder they couldn't admit Dear Leader was colluding with them.

They were already colluding themselves.

So somebody grow some BALLS and start arresting people... If you all (and by that I mean the several U.S. Agencies currently sitting on their hands) just sit back and watch and do nothing, then guess what? Four more years of Trumpleforeskin... Somebody HAS to act! I don't care if it starts a 2nd Civil War!

Well, guess this is the formal end of the era of the "Reagan Republican" and serves as a formal repudiation of the anti-communist work of so many members of the GOP. Remember when so many were afraid of the Russian menace? Republicans don't ...
