President Trump says the U.S. Postal Service is incapable of facilitating mail-in voting because it cannot access the emergency funding he is blocking, and made clear that requests for additional aid were nonstarters in coronavirus relief negotiations.

Mail in voting is so wrong because it will encourage....voting. Trump and the Republicans are just evil and are willing to cheat in any way they can because they want power at any cost to America. Every decent American should be sure to vote against this -------. Despicable.

Is America even a free country? How long before they just cancel elections? If we were a different country the UN would be saying that our elections are not free and would be sending monitors in like they did in Venezuela.

We preach freedom and open government to other nations but have little of it at home.

Trump has made this far worse.

The debate is over whether or not Trump leaves hard or easy when he is defeated. He is going to try and stay in office; with everything bad, nasty, and likely violent that means.

At some point the social contract where we all agree in the process of power sharing - it was tossed out. The Republicans have decided that a one party rule future is viable and desirable. Therefore anything goes. I mean, once you've decided that the other guys getting to lead for a bit is unthinkable, then what else is there to do but start breaking all the things we made to make the whole power sharing thing work.

Except to the private military industrial complex, I wouldn't call the Navy a profitable enterprise either.

Republicans messing with the elections like they did in North Carolina is what you really need to worry about.

Republicans claim there is election fraud then they prove it by trying to commit election fraud. But they were caught committing fraud proving is not as easy to commit election fraud as Republicans like to claim.

The cool thing about military ballots is that they're sent out 45 days before the election, versus 30 days for non-military absentee ballots (at least according to Florida's election office).

Ballots for those with military servicemember flagged on their registrations should be sent out around 19SEP.

Slowing down mail in voting will hurt GOP candidates.

The latest poll in Wisconsin shows 55% of Democrats plan to vote by mail, versus just 15% of Republicans.

By contrast 67% of Republicans plan to vote in person on election day, versus just 27% of Democrats.

Republicans both (a) don't care about Covid, and (b) know Trump is sabotaging mail-in voting, so they are more likely to vote in person than to mail in a ballot.

All good. IMO, the Navy has the most value-add of any of the services. Coast Guard doesn't count, but they do good work.
Air Force has some good CAS systems.

On the other hand:
USMC: great branding, but when was the last time the US conducted an amphibious assault? Is their relevance tied to a future battle in Taiwan?
Army: how are tanker units relevant in 2020 if they're not currently outfitted as mobile C2/C&C platforms? Smart tanks are the future - if that platform has a future, versus the current outfit of essentially being slow, armored artillery.

I don't know that Trump literally hopes for an all-out civil war, but he wouldn't mind seeing a few skirmishes that he can use to either a) justify a crackdown, thinking that would bump his support (it won't); or b) give him cover to delay the election "until we know what's going on."

Heres's what a true President in a democracy should do:

Have a plan and invest in the capability of fixing the issues that could exist come November. Keep people safe. Allow people to vote.

But this President has his own agenda. He puts that agenda before the public. And that is essense of a poor leader.

Trump has openly admitted why he's on a mission to hurt the USPS, along with his lacky, DeJoy. Mail is piling up, purposefully. Some of it will be destroyed rather than delivered. Our 200 year old, trusted USPS is being underfunded and sabotaged to aid Trump's election by one of his donors, who, BTW, owns $30,000,000 in stock in a USPS subcontractor.

This is a felony for which DeJoy should be arrested and prosecuted for:

18 U.S. Code 1703 says:

(a) Whoever, being a Postal Service officer or employee, unlawfully secretes, destroys, detains, delays, or opens any letter, postal card, package, bag, or mail entrusted to him or which shall come into his possession, and which was intended to be conveyed by mail, or carried or delivered by any carrier or other employee of the Postal Service, or forwarded through or delivered from any post office or station thereof established by authority of the Postmaster General or the Postal Service, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than five years, or both.

If Trump, also known as individual-1, loses the election he is likely to lose his voting rights AND his freedom. He should get the same justice as his lawyer did. He is individual-1, the Co conspirator who directed his lawyer to break the law. And that is only one crime he will need to defend himself against.

That is why he is desperately using his power to try and maintain his power. To stay out of prison.
