Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Thursday, September 10, 2020

[A]ccording to Nate Dinguss, [Michael Forest Reinoehl, a self-described anti-fascist suspected of fatally shooting a member of a far-right group in Portland, Ore.] was clutching a cellphone and eating a gummy worm as he walked to his car outside an apartment complex in Lacey, Wash. That's when officers opened fire without first announcing themselves or trying to arrest him, Dinguss, a 39-year-old who lives in the apartment complex, said in a statement shared with The Washington Post.

Dingess said he saw Reinoehl walk toward his car holding a cellphone in his hand when two unmarked law enforcement vehicles converged outside the complex in the 7600 block of Third Way Southeast last Thursday night. Officers began firing at Reinoehl, according to a statement issued by Dingess' lawyer, Luke Laughlin, on his behalf.

Reinoehl ducked for cover near his car, but it was blocked by police cars and he never got into it, according to Dingess.

"Officers shot multiple rapid-fire rounds at Reinoehl before issuing a brief stop' command, quickly followed by more rapid-fire shooting by additional officers," according to the statement.

Dingess said he never saw a handgun on Reinoehl or saw him reach for anything. Police have said Reinoehld was found with a handgun but have not said if he fired any shots at officers.

Wow. Now compare that to what other witnesses reportedly saw.
Chad Smith and Chase Cutler, who were working on cars nearby Thursday, said an unmarked SUV had been parked on School Street for a while when that SUV and another converged on a man in a vehicle at the apartment complex. Smith and Cutler moved onto a grassy area about 50 yards away to watch what was happening.

The man got out of his vehicle and began to fire what they believe was an assault rifle at the SUVs. They said they heard 40 or 50 shots, then officers returned fire, hitting the man.

"It reminded me of a video game," Cutler said.

I don't see any way to make these competing "eyewitness" statements jibe with each other. Someone didn't see what they claim that they did, and since police only reported that Reinoehl had a handgun, I'm wondering how he could fire "40 or 50 shots" allegedly from him.

I missed these pertinent facts:

Dingess, an ordained minister of 19 years, fears for his and his family's safety for speaking out in what has become a flashpoint in the political swirl around Portland's ongoing protests, according to his lawyers.

Laughlin {Dingess' attorney] and other lawyers are calling for an independent authority to investigate the shooting of Reinoehl, arguing that the Thurston County Sheriff's Office is not an uninvolved party.

"Given the political sentiment of the deceased, and the national climate regarding police shootings, the investigation ought to be handled by an outside organization without ties to law enforcement, if it can really be considered fair and neutral," Laughlin said. "The law requires, and Reinoehl's family and the public deserve, transparency and accountability. At a time when public outcry over police killings is at its peak in this country, it is imperative that the circumstances of Reinoehl's death not be swept aside."

When the news cycle catches up to this story I'm afraid all hell is going to break lose on the heels of Kenosha police not only letting an armed shooter walk away from fatally injuring two protesters and wounding a third - which happened right before their eyes and presence - and dropping a suspect in his driveway as a ordained minister witness swears was eating a candy worm as he walked toward his car, apparently unaware of that the officers were even there.

The police murder people with impunity all over America. Fact!

Not surprised the police murdered someone in cold blood.
The only surprise Is he was white.
The reason they made that exception is one of their patriot prayer buddies got killed and they were seeking revenge.

Police apparently aligning with (recruiting from?) White Supremacy groups is a troubling development.

White supremacists and militias have infiltrated police across US, report says

Light another block or two on fire, knock yourself out. You might as well loot a little too, I've read it's like reparations.

It would have to be a Calico 9mm. It has a 50 and 100 round rotary drum mag on top and dress up accessories to make it look like a baby rifle. If it's not that the story can't be right.

I believe, with no evidence to back it up, that he would not have been executed had he been a White Supremacist, Qanon, or an identifiable right winger.

We have evidence - anecdotal - to back it up Moder8. Their names are Dylan Roof and Kyle Rittenhouse.
And both of them had semi-automatic rifles, not just a single handgun as has been reported about Reinoehl.

I question the validity of both the eye witness reports. Many reasons...

First off - eye witnesses are notoriously unreliable period.
Second when there's a bunch of shooting going on - who isn't ducking?
Third there are agendas aplenty in that area in particular from both observers and police.

Finally show us the video. If there is none that is a tremendous issue as to the credibility of anything the police claim. Time and again they file false reports in shootings or deaths in general reports that make them sound more justified. Time and again since the protests and riots have started police claims are proved false by bystander video and reporters. There would be zero excuse at this time for there not to be dash cam and body cam footage of this incident in particular because the police knew this was a big deal. Do I doubt an officer unloaded on him without cause? No I do not. Give me a reason to believe you is my thought. I also have no doubt - zero - police 'waited "multiple minutes" before rendering medical aid to Reinoehl'.

Sorry but police are not there to be Judge, Jury and Executioner - that's vigilantism.

As a matter of credibility, I believe the fact that Mr. Dingess retaining an attorney before releasing his public statement at least shows an acute awareness of both the gravity and incendiary nature of his eyewitness account. And he's fully aware that if what he's reporting is in fact not true, he has opened himself and his family to future legal sanctions and public ostracization.

Neither the polices' nor the other witness' statements are even possible if one single detail of Dingess' remarks can be proven true by photographic evidence that undoubtedly exists; namely the positioning of the LEO vehicles as blocking any possible exit for Reinoehl's car.

Both the police and the other witnesses put Reinoehl in his car, while Dingess says that he never made it inside and was gunned down outside the vehicle. There is no way to square an account of him walking from his dwelling TO the car with an account of him being IN the car and then exiting it while firing at officers.

And also due to the timing of Dingess coming forward, there is the possibility the police have already filed their report, which his testimony might undermine if facts and evidence match his account.

As noted, hopefully we'll see once any video and photos are publicly released.

No video,no evidence, just the word of lying murdering pigs. This is another riot about to explode. White guys dying because BLM. Will they riot or is whitey expendable?

The shadow knows.

A Set of Immutable Facts:

1) Dylan Roof received his day in court.

2) Kyle Rittenhouse will receive his day in court.

3) James Alex Fields Jr. received his day in court.

4) Michael Forest Reinoehl will never receive his day in court.

Each one was suspected of murder. Each one is white. Only one of them was gunned down by police before being brought into custody.

Only one of them killed a person who was an avowed right wing activist. In fact, each one other than Michael are right wing activists themselves.

A friend and I were leaving another's one night and as we got to the driveway, a low speed, rolling gunfight appeared on the cross street. Some cracker in a janky van was chasing others in a rattletrap sedan. The van guy was shooting at them with a large nickle plated semi auto pistol. The other car was shooting backwards at him with something that sounded like a .22.

We just stood there like idiots and watched it roll by.

"Only one of them killed a person who was an avowed right wing activist."

Only one of them pulled a gun on arresting officers.

Are you equally incensed by the shooting of LaVoy Finicum? Or did that happen back when Law Enforcement Officers were the good guys?

Only one of them pulled a gun on arresting officers.

Not according to a 19 year ordained minister claiming to have witnessed the entire encounter.

Did you bother to read the story or headline whatsoever?

Dingess said he saw Reinoehl walk toward his car holding a cellphone in his hand when two unmarked law enforcement vehicles converged outside the complex in the 7600 block of Third Way Southeast last Thursday night. Officers began firing at Reinoehl,....

Where does it confirm that Reinoehl "pulled a gun" on the officers? Even they haven't made such a claim. Why answer a question you invented that the known facts cannot support? If Dingess is lying, he needlessly subjected himself to charges for filing a false statement.

Do I need to repeat myself in saying that until evidence is produced - evidence that I believe undoubtedly exists, it isn't possible to know exactly what happened because the reports so far contradict each other?
