One month into the forced reopening of Florida's schools, dozens of classrooms -- along with some entire schools -- have been temporarily shuttered because of coronavirus outbreaks, and infections among school-age children have jumped 34 percent. But parents in many parts of the state don't know if outbreaks of the virus are related to their own schools because the state ordered some counties to keep health data secret.

Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) has pushed aggressively for schools to offer in-person classes, even when Florida was the hot spot of the nation, and threatened to withhold funding if districts did not allow students into classrooms by Aug. 31. ... The Florida Department of Health reported that 10,513 children under age 18 have tested positive since schools started reopening for in-person teaching, an increase of 34 percent.

Well, if you don't publish the data about the cases, then those cases don't exist. Right?

And if those cases don't exist, then you won't scare away the tourists visiting the theme parks in Florida.

DeSatanist stepping up Trump's manslaughter game. Targetting the kids for extra points.

At least the GOP will know which homicidal maniac to nominate for the presidency next time.

Proud of the Broward County School Board....they aren't buckling to DeSatanist's demands. My grandson is still doing virtual school.

Why? What's in it for them? Don't they have an interest in safe schools and public health?

The whole thing is beyond stupid. Do they really think if they hide the truth nobody will know?

Florida is such a damn toilet. Too many braindead Republicans.

DeSantis' head has been so far up Dotard's keester since he was elected, I'm shocked he didn't hear the briefings in January and February.

Trumpublican pols are completely conscience-free, self-serving sub-human garbage.

Good information is dangerous for their careers.

Just need an innocent kid or two to die and all hell will break loose. Just simply criminal behavior.

The state and counties should be being inundated with FOIA filings daily.
