How could LASD be demanding her papers when they had already knocked the crap out of her?
And since when do press credentials facilitate a lawman's nod that allows so-called "interference"?

Defund that police department, those officers are unnecessary expenses and when you consider the law suits they enable far too costly. Every officer in every police department should have, as part of their record, the amount of law suits they made possible and they should have that information made public so that, us tax payers, could see which of them is costing us the most money so we could get rid of them.

And then some folks still wonder why cops are distrusted.

Man, I just don't get it; why are so many people angry at police?

How many American policemen are needed to neck tackle one woman?

Great neck tackle. Does the entire police department need to pile on?

Some boot licker on Twitter is spamming news threads about this incident with "The reporter was not wearing proper credentials" without identifying what are proper credentials or why the credentials she was wearing around her neck were improper.

And clearly, by video evidence, the police did not inquire about credentials. They tackled her without recognize her role or responsibility. The officers stomping on her phone is all the evidence I need to recognize this as bull ---- policing tactics by overly empowered ass holes.

Try running up to an arrest in progress, and as the reporter lated stated had no credentials showing nor stated she was press, and see if you don't end up arrested too.

Must have missed the video of police officers stomping on her phone.

She had credentials around her neck; the police are claiming that they were not the proper credentials without explaining how the credentials she was in possession of were improper.

"the police are claiming that they were not the proper credentials "

This is a blatant lie.
There are no such thing as "press credentials."
It's. Not. A. Thing.
And certainly no such thing as "proper credentials."
When I worked for The Stars And Stripes newspaper, our reporters press credentials were their business cards.

In point of fact, the First Amendment gives We The People all the proper press credentials we need.

How close can I get to an arrest in progress, by statute?
Does the distance change if I'm walking or running?
Thanks in advance.

LAPD just produced a best-seller.

If only we could funnel some of that money back to pay the horrendous legal fees they constantly accrue from doing stupid things like this in the first place.

On another note if I didn't know better I'd say she's new to LA because everyone there knows you don't mess with LAPD.

Cuz they're the biggest gang on the block.

But she's been a respected journalist for years...

During the 1960's northern visitors coming south to join civil rights marches were trained how to conduct themselves in those marches and in front of the police, so as to give the least reason to get attacked and beaten. Modern journalists need that same training, so as to remain as safe as possible while reporting on important situations like this. I don't want to sound like I'm blaming the reporter, but there was a better way to witness what was unfolding...

It's hard to beat being brutally attacked as being a better way of bearing witness.

Pretty sure it's a MAGA hat and a couple AKs strapped to your chest.

The police tend to leave these types alone.
